We are looking for an experienced Power & Renewable Energy underwriter who is seeking to advance into a Head of position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Writing profitable Power & Renewable Energy business in line with the underwriting plan, using professional judgment to achieve target premium revenue, return on premium, and business growth.
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the Power & Renewable Energy team, including supervision and management of staff, coverholder performance, and reporting, while operating in line with the underwriting manual, compliance, and company procedures.
- Managing and growing distribution by enhancing broker relationships and implementing core line of business initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Fully understand the risk and seek further clarity as required.
- Underwrite profitable business according to business plans.
- Adhere to all Starr underwriting standards outlined in the Underwriting Manual.
- Obtain sign-off for all business exceeding authority levels or outside rating guidelines.
- Follow rating tools and guidelines.
- Ensure policy wordings and clauses are slip referenced and agreed.
- Develop broker and client relationships to optimize opportunities, including meetings, presentations, and events.
- Increase market share by showcasing technical expertise and building awareness.
- Identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities through client and company knowledge.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape and deliver asset management solutions across the full offshore wind lifecycle-from turbines and foundations to cables and substations
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Develop and apply risk-based inspection (RBI), condition monitoring, and life-extension approaches tailored to offshore wind assets.
+ Participate in or lead inspection planning, integrity reviews, and maintenance optimization studies.
+ Work with digital teams to integrate asset data into CMMS, dashboards, and reporting tools.
+ Oversee the lifecycle performance of offshore wind assets, from commissioning through to decommissioning.
+ Lead diagnostics, root cause analyses, and performance assessments using SCADA, CMS, and digital analytics platforms.
+ Support commercial assessments for life extension & repowering

**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials or Renewable Engineering or related discipline
+ Experience in offshore wind or energy infrastructure asset management.
+ Understanding SCADA systems, CMMS tools, and performance analytics software.
+ Good understanding of offshore wind turbine technology, electrical infrastructure, and marine operations.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think holistically across systems.
+ Comfortable engaging with clients, project teams, and external stakeholders.
**Desirable (but not essential)**
+ Experience with offshore foundations, WTG components, cables, or substations.
+ Understanding of standards (e.g. ISO 55000, DNV, IEC).
+ Experience with condition monitoring, CMMS/EAM systems, or inspection planning tools.
