Raytheon UK is looking for a Wire Harness Technician to join our Glenrothes team on a full time permanent basis. You will be focused on building, maintaining and repairing test wire harnesses.
As Wire Harness Technician, you will report to manufacturing engineering function, and will support harnesses required for Manufacturing, Test Development and Engineering
**Main Duties:**
+ Build new test harnesses from wiring schedules and schematic diagrams
+ Identify source of any harness failures and repair where necessary. This will usually take the form of visual inspection or point to point wire checks
+ Assess any cables for reliability concerns and recommend improvements
+ Liaise with engineering to clarify any issues to aid the successful completion of a repair/build
+ Manual assembly of circuit boards
**Candidate Requirements:**
+ Previous experience of test harness manufacture and circuit card assembly processes
+ Soldering and inspection to ANSI-J STD/IPC610, mechanical and wiring assembly
+ Ability to interpret wiring schedules and schematics
+ Ability to gather materials and tooling necessary to perform work
+ Highly proficient in all areas of cable build, including soldering, crimping, wire splicing, cable dressing
+ Ability to communicate with all levels of the business
**Desirable:**
+ ANSI-J STD/IPC620 Cable and Wire harness accreditation

This position will give you the opportunity to work on projects from prestigious Motorsport to prototype Automotive projects and everything in between. This could include reactive fault finding down to component level, such as actuators, wiring looms/harnesses and sensors and also the production of complete new harnesses/ looms and systems.
You'll be working on harnesses that can be used for prototype engines and ECU's in live test cells or in a productions style environment so will be varied work.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a team of skilled engineers contributing to one of the most significant offshore wind developments in the region.
Role Overview:
Act as the Ørsted project representative on board Boulder Clearance Vessel during seabed preparation activities
Key Responsibilities / Tasks / Deliverables:
- Maintain an accurate record of all installation activities on a daily basis throughout the execution phase
- Ensure that all relevant approved procedures and risk assessments are followed by the Contractor
- Ensure the Contractor proactively manages safety and quality
- Act, behave and lead by example according to Ørsted’s values
Tasks:
- Prepare and distribute Daily Progress Reports (DPR) as required
- Ensure the DPRs are signed by all required parties
- Review and understand RA/MS and QHSE documents as required before execution phase commences and keep updated on changes in the documents
- Attend daily meetings, toolbox talks and any other discussions to ensure that the works are being carried out in a safe manner to the required quality
- During all defined key activities and otherwise as often as practicable be present as a witness during installation. Access all work areas provided it is safe to do so. Screen all installation progress reporting tools used by Contractor
- Participate in safety walks with HSE representatives from Ørsted and Contractor organisations
- Synergi reporting as supervised by the specific package and project from incidents and from safety walks
Output:
- Daily recording of activities relating to seabed boulder clearance/seabed preparation (including screening boulder/debris target list/register)
- Submission of completed and signed DPR
- Immediate reporting of any safety, quality, or procedural deviations
- Report on Contractor equipment upkeep/maintenance programmes
Decision Authority:
- Authority to intervene or stop the operation in case of safety, quality infringements or the procedures not being carried out as per approved RAMS
- Can recommend and agree to minor changes to the various works ongoing on a daily basis
Qualification / Requirements:
Mandatory:
- GWO courses: Sea Survival, Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling
- HUET, STCW 2010, OPITO or BOSIET and EBS (STASS, HEED or EBS)
- OEUK (or equivalent) medical certificate including Chester Step
- IOSH Managing Safely or similar HSE training
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in seabed boulder clearance/seabed preparation operations (ROV grab, PLGR, cable cutting etc.)

- LOLER and CDM
- Marine awareness qualifications as required by the package role
