Technical PR agency Stone Junction is looking for graduates to join its creative and growing team. As an account executive you would be expected to work in-person from the office in Stafford.
Our clients come from a range of disciplines, so we are looking for applicants with a keen interest in technical and scientific writing and a passion for expanding their knowledge. We are looking for graduates with a STEM, journalism, marketing/ PR or languages based degree and have a passion for communications.
Salary range for this position: Starting at £25,000, advancing to £8,000 in line with progression.
All account executives receive awesome training, are given opportunities to quickly progress their careers and work towards regular performance-related salary increases.
You must be able to write compelling copy and be able to recognise when disruptive and innovative technologies have the potential to make good media stories.
Please note we require all new starters to attend the office full time for the first three months, moving to a hybrid model in the office following this period. This means we ideally require you to live within a one hour commute of Stafford, or be open to relocating.
Desirable backgrounds include:
- Holders of STEM-based degrees that are keen to use their background in a communicate role
- Marketing, PR and journalism specialists that can turn scientific topics into headline-making news
- Language speakers — whether it's French, Italian, German, Chinese or any other international language — to help communicate stories to global audiences
Your day-to-day role in the office would involve:
- Researching, writing and distributing press releases, opinion articles, case studies, letters, white papers etc to targeted media outlets
- Assisting with the production of client publications, such as email newsletters, blogs and in-house magazines
- Undertaking research for new business proposals and presenting to potential new clients
- Liaising with clients and the media, often via telephone and email
- Building relationships and networking with clients and the media
- Monitoring the media for rapid response opportunities for clients and clippings
- Preparing regular client reports and attending client and journalist meetings
- Promoting news stories and features to the media, known as 'selling in'
