Role: MRP Controller - York - Hybrid Role

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 + Yearly Bonus

Location: York - You must be located within 1 hour of York.

We have an exciting opportunity for a MRP (material requirements planning) Controller to join our successful team at our Head office in York. Once you are fully trained you can work from home 2 days per week.

You will provide lean, capacity managed production programmes in support of customer demand to deliver their requirements on time, whilst ensuring externally sourced materials are delivered on a JIT system with minimal held inventory.

***We are looking for a candidate with the ability and desire to learn and deliver efficiency improvement and optimisation. You will have strong experience and the ability to develop collaborative relationships both internally and externally, with a mindset to deliver the best for Portakabin***.

As a MRP Controller, you will:

*Ensure materials produced internally are available on time to deliver factory assembly programme.

*Liaise daily with the manufacturing team to eliminate bottlenecks and assembly issues and ensure that production schedules are understood, realistic and achieved; it includes monitoring and reporting the position of each manufacturing area against the schedule (Production plan adherence >95%).

Take responsibility for the introduction of new and superseded produced in house materials to avoid materials shortages, reduce slow movers, and obsolete.

*Identify slow moving, obsolete and surplus materials and recommend appropriate action to reduce inventory waste through stock turnover focus.

*Control the release of work within agreed capacity levels & provide smooth programmes to each work centre.

*Participate in lean initiatives to improve production schedule processes & systems; partnering with internal stakeholders to define clear roles and responsibilities.

*Lead the change of ownership of production scheduling from operations to supply chain.

Essential Skills and experience for the role:

*Supply Chain or Production background - Understanding of Production and Supply Chain methodology and strategy skills

*Solid understanding of Materials Resource Planning procedures, production planning and finite scheduling.

*Proven experience in monthly forecasting of P&L, balance sheet and cash flows

*Ability to proactively set own agenda to meet the deadlines

As a Credit Controller , you will have experience dealing with the following responsibilities:

  • Credit Management - New and Existing Accounts

* Maintain customer master and credit information in SAP as necessary

* Give advice to commercial areas when necessary regarding the provision of credit facilities

* Utilise D&B Portfolio Manager to support credit opinions and to manage high risk debt

Debt Collection

* Ensure that monthly or ad hoc statements are sent to customers as necessary

* Ensure that overdue reminder letters are sent to all customers where appropriate in order to pursue overdue payment

* Ensure that all customers receive telephone reminders for overdue accounts as per the department timetable, and that an accurate telephone log of all conversations is maintained both in SAP and in excel To further ensure that reminder calls are logged using outlook task manager

* Ensure that large value debt is pre chased before the due date and to resolve any issues before the debt falls due

* Ensure that account reconciliations are completed where necessary in order to ensure agreement with our customers ledgers

* Action any unpaid cheques or Direct Debits urgently

* Identify, flag and monitor invoices which are held in dispute and to ensure they are resolved by the relevant personnel

* Action customer correspondence or incoming calls as necessary

* Management of purchase orders with client as and when necessary

* Direct Debit - DD mandates, advance notices, payments and associated tasks

Reporting

* Prepare bad debt provision at month end

* 60 Day debt + 00k debt review and comment

* Collate, maintain and distribute information regarding debtors as necessary to commercial area.

Additional tasks

* Assist sales ledger with transactional processing when necessary

* Process electronic billing when required

* D&B Portfolio Manager - data matching and management of alerts

* Process credit card payments promptly and securely, as and when required

* Organise customer correspondence and file securely

Your responsibilities

• Line management of Quality Associates and ownership of related activities. Delegating tasks effectively to ensure that products in the external manufacturing portfolio are compliant to Regulatory and Reckitt standards.
• Coach and develop Quality Associates to strengthen individual capabilities and build a high performing, engaged team.
• Identity development needs and implement tailored development plans to grow technical and leadership skills across the Quality Associates.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration, communication and knowledge sharing among the team and stakeholders.
• Act as Quality approver and/or support as SME for QMS records owned by Quality Associates, ensuring decisions are aligned with quality standards and business priorities.
• Ensuring that auditor competency is sufficient for the scope of products and relevant classifications for own and Quality Associates portfolio management.
• Actively engage in Quality Improvement plans and support their execution.
• Act as a lead auditor to assess and approve external manufacturers with ongoing management of a defined portfolio.
• Review Product Quality Reviews where it is applicable according to product classifications and Technical Agreement and ensures that product meets with Reckitt requirements

The experience we're looking for

• Excellent risk management skills to identify and mitigate supplier risks to the business, developing strategies and executing action plans to resolve critical issues.
• Proven leadership skills with prior experience in people management.
• Experience managing third-party manufacturing operations.
• Technical and professional qualifications, including experience in quality audit.
• Thorough knowledge on the regulatory requirements, rules and guidance covering the QMS and manufacture of pharmaceutical products in Europe, such as EU GMP/GDP, ISO13485 and ISO22716.
• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Pharmaceutics.
• Experience of working in a quality function in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device related industry.
• Travel will be required in Europe / UK.

About the role

The Global Quality Training and Capabilities Manager will be responsible for defining and executing a global strategy for Quality Capability and Educational deployment across the organisation. Sitting within the Global QMS team, the role will ensure consistent understanding and application of global quality standards through a robust educational framework and a network of QMS Owners, Training Coordinators and Quality Champions. 

The role will lead the development of a scalable, engaging, and effective educational programme that supports Reckitt’s commitment to quality across all product categories and geographies. 

As part of the Global Quality Centre of Excellence, the role will partner with other Strategic Quality Operational teams to ensure a consistent approach is delivered and that the team continually maintains compliance.

Your responsibilities

- Design and implement a Global Quality training and capability building strategy aligned with the Reckitt’s Quality and Business Objectives. 

- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of material being deployed and the growth in capabilities across Reckitt.  

- Build and deploy an approach to ensure Global Documents and Processes can easily be assessed and integrated into the Local QMS through QualityOne VTS. 

- Identify, onboard, and engage a global network of Quality Champions across regions and functions to support the development and delivery of the training and capability building strategy. 

- Provide tools, guidance, and ongoing support to Champions to ensure consistent deployment of material. 

- Foster a culture of community to drive participation and self-sufficiency. 

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of material based on prioritised Global Quality standards, policies, and procedures. 

- Leverage QualityOne VTS, digital tools and blended learning approaches to deliver scalable  Educational and Capability based material that the business can deliver.

- Generate engaging and varied training material with support of the Champion Network on key QMS topics.

- Act as a change agent to foster a culture of continuous learning and quality excellence. 

- Monitor training compliance and provide tools for the business to track completion for audit readiness activities. 

- Continuously assess and improve training effectiveness through feedback, audits, and performance data.

-Coach and support the factory leadership team, and Supervisors, to deliver their local EHS agenda.

-Work with our Regional Compliance Manager to develop and agree action plan to close out all actions identified in the regional compliance audits.

-Ensure that EHS requirements are included and managed in planning for any significant Capex or expansion of the site.

-Lead planning and organisation for EHS related audits including from Regional Compliance Team, OHSAS 18001/ISO14001 auditors, external legal auditors and regulatory bodies.

-Collate/Review and reporting EHS key performance indicators to Site Management, & to the Global H & S and Sustainability team.

-Work with Regional EHS Manager to discuss findings, agree prioritisation, develop consistency, develop action plans, benchmark and improve EHS on site.

The experience we're looking for

-Hold NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, degree in Environmental management, environmental engineering or science or equivalent level of qualifications.

-Over 5 years’ experience working in EHS (experience in Manufacturing FMCG would be beneficial)

-Must have knowledge of legal requirements in Environment and H&S and experience of working with local authorities (including knowledge of permit requirements and monitoring)

-Working knowledge of ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001

-In depth knowledge of local environmental and Health &Safety legislation

-Good overall knowledge of manufacturing environmental controls including spill response, bulk storage, hazardous material delivery and control, waste, water management and managing environmental performance.

-Strong leadership skills, including developing and mentoring a H&S team.

-Support department managers to complete accident investigations within a 24hrs time frame.

-Challenge bad practice and implement corrective control measures with department leaders.

-Share and discuss H&S incidents and alerts from the group with local teams and management.

-Act as a subject matter expert to support the site on H&S topics. Implement H&S improvement initiatives and practices to drive and improve H&S cultures.  

-Develop, implement, and monitor departmental H&S improvement plans.

-Support areas to ensure that H&S ownership remains with departments.

-You will lead or co-ordinate the development of H&S procedures and instructions to support the H&S management system.

-Support the Health & Safety Manger when internal & external agencies come to site e.g. Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, Humberside Fire and Rescue, etc.

-Support and audit the Reckitt standards proposing a corrective action plan to ensure audit scores are compliant maintaining 'Green' on all.

-Ensure that all internal regional and global standards are applied and regularly reviewed for compliance.
