About the people and their home

Roseville is a happy, settled home for six men who have lived here between 6 and 26 years. It has a family-feel, and we do all we can to ensure the home is cosy and person-centred.

They’re a fun-loving, caring group who love days out together and individually, and over the summer we have been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Barmouth, Rhyl as well as to festivals and concerts. We have a wide range of interests among us - one person loves Star Wars, another loves roller coasters, and others enjoy cooking and gardening, to name just a few.

We also enjoy parties and doing karaoke in our large back garden, and we had our first family and friends day in June which was lovely to have everyone come together.

We enjoy being part of the local community and like to get out every day. On Sunday nights we go to the local pub together to mark the end of the week, and we like to attend local events, for example Wem Carnival, the Vehicles of Interest event on the recreation ground, the local coffee morning, and sometimes the circus when it comes to town. The members of Roseville are well known to the locals and a quick walk to the shop can take much longer than expected due to people stopping to chat.

At Roseville, we all take part in the cooking, cleaning and in maintaining the home. Support is needed with personal care, laundry and medication. We support them in making and attending health appointments and help them to budget their finances correctly.

Our staff team are always coming up with new and imaginative ways of engaging and encouraging them to try new activities and skills. We encourage them to push boundaries, be brave and most of all have fun!
