Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed analysis and variance explanations.
- Lead on tax compliance, including VAT, Corporation Tax, and other relevant fiscal reporting.
- Support external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiencies within the finance function.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and board pack information.
- Contribute to strategic financial planning and ad-hoc projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA accountant with a proven track record in a similar role.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
- Experience in management reporting and financial planning is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
