This role is about leading and shaping customer conversations around the future of work in the new age of AI. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders across the business, from C-Suite to technical leads, to guide thinking, capture requirements, and define use cases and MVPs. The focus is on ideation, advisory, and helping customers understand the art of the possible – particularly using Microsoft Cloud technologies — particularly Copilot, AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric, and Power Platform.

A key part of the role is to help customers understand and navigate the journey towards becoming a “Frontier Firm” — that is, an organisation that systematically adopts AI and automation to drive productivity, client value, and operational resilience. This means helping customers move beyond experimentation, towards embedding AI assistants and agents into everyday work, and ultimately shaping a roadmap for phased adoption and maturity.

Working in a small team, under the guidance of senior advisory leader, you should be able to curate business and technical requirements into demonstrable value for customers, while continuously developing your own skills and certifications.

The typical applications we build use existing closed or open-source foundational models, potentially with some the application of multi-modal, contextual RAG, fine tuning, MCP and other emerging GenAI capabilities. We put emphasis on utilising existing data sources and Microsoft Dataverse and Fabric as a foundational data platform enabling wider AI use cases for our customers.

Customer Satisfaction & Confidence

o Regularly interacting with customers to understand their business challenges, goals, and requirements, and effectively communicating how emerging technical solutions can address their needs.

o Build trust and credibility by leading structured, value-led conversations that help customers explore and understand automation and AI opportunities, including what it means to be a “Frontier Firm”.

Clear Use Case & MVP Definition

o Translate customer ambition into well-defined use cases and MVPs that can be handed over to delivery teams with minimal rework, with a focus on practical, high-impact scenarios (e.g. AI assistants, workflow automation, agent-based solutions).

o Delivers well‑structured demos/PoCs that meet acceptance criteria within agreed sprint timescales, enabling timely customer decisions.

Effective Requirements Capture

o Use structured agile frameworks (e.g. design thinking, PROSCI, etc.) to run ideation sessions and capture business and technical requirements clearly.

Strategic Alignment

o Ensure customer needs are aligned with Microsoft Cloud capabilities and Nasstar’s wider operating model, and help customers chart their own transformation path — recognising there’s no single blueprint for AI adoption.

Proactively follows developments in the ever-evolving Data & AI space. Achieves at least one relevant Microsoft certification per year and actively shares knowledge with the team.

• Lead Customer Ideation Sessions — Facilitate structured workshops to explore automation and AI opportunities, using design thinking and change frameworks to guide the conversation. Help customers identify where they are on the “Frontier Firm” journey and what the next steps look like.
• Capture Requirements & Shape Use Cases — Work with stakeholders to define business needs, capture requirements, and shape them into actionable use cases and MVPs — with a particular focus on scenarios that move the customer from experimentation to systematic adoption (e.g. AI assistants, digital agents, workflow automation).
• Provide Strategic Advisory — Act as a trusted advisor, helping customers understand what’s possible with Microsoft Cloud technologies and how to align their ambitions with value-based practical outcomes. Guide customers through the phases of AI adoption, from initial pilots to broader, systematic use.
• Engage Stakeholders Across the Business — Build relationships across customer organisations — from senior leadership to technical teams — and ensure alignment throughout the engagement.
• Apply Frameworks to Structure Thinking — Use frameworks like PROSCI and SAFe to support change management, agile planning, and stakeholder alignment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Maths, Physics or related field
• Degree in Data Science, AI, Statistics desirable but not essential.
• Familiarity with design thinking, PROSCI, and SAFe.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Cloud technologies — Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Azure AI, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric
• 3+ years’ commercial experience (including internships or placement year) in customer-facing consulting roles, ideally within a Microsoft Partner or similar environment.
• Experience leading ideation and requirements workshops.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ways of working and participation in sprint ceremonies
• Exposure to ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, or ML/AI workloads.
• Exposure to SME and small enterprise customers, ideally in regulated sectors like legal or finance
• Experience helping organisations move from AI experimentation to systematic adoption.

• Conduct research and stay updated on the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies, particularly in generative models such as GANs, VAEs, and diffusion models
• Analyze large datasets to uncover patterns, insights, and opportunities for machine learning applications
• Optimize and fine-tune models for performance, scalability, and accuracy
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for model training and deployment
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and engineers
• Communicate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
• Develop and present client deliverables, including project plans, progress reports, and final presentations
• Participate in client meetings and workshops to showcase AI capabilities and provide thought leadership on AI strategies
  
  
  

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Proven experience (3+ years) in machine learning and generative AI, with a strong portfolio of projects involving models like GANs, VAEs, transformers, or diffusion models
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Julia, and experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
• Strong understanding of deep learning architectures, neural networks, and statistical modeling techniques
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and MLops tools for model deployment and management
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to identify and troubleshoot issues in model performance and data quality
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

In this role, you will:

1. Deliver or lead AI projects, plan and execute activities using Agile methodologies, track progress, manage risks, and ensure strategic alignment with client goals.
2. Spearhead Workplace AI solution prototyping with support from peers and senior technical colleagues to respond to client demands for innovation and strengthen our market position.
3. Help mature the Workplace AI offering by applying innovative thinking to new business problems, defining feasible, viable, desirable, and sustainable solutions, and delivering impactful presentations.
4. Contribute to team upskilling, identify and share new AI trends and learnings to support our clients better.

• Assist clients in realizing their vision of an empowered digital workplace using AI technologies like Microsoft Copilot or Amazon Q.
• Support or lead project planning and delivery using agile methodologies, manage risks, and oversee quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate business value through design and delivery artifacts, aligning business and technical stakeholders on AI benefits, and demonstrate strong presentation and analytical skills.
• Show passion for client success, strive for excellence, and proactively manage stakeholder relationships.

• Configure, build, and integrate Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions using tools like Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, or Google Vertex AI Studio.
• Identify opportunities to accelerate AI solutions and develop expertise through training and certifications.
• Stay informed of the competitive landscape and explore deployment of other Gen AI solutions like Amazon Q, Google Gemini, or ChatGPT Enterprise.
• Translate new learnings to expand our Workplace AI offerings and market differentiation.

• Maintain skills and availability to respond to new client opportunities.
• Contribute to practice development, including operations, recruitment, and team activities.
• Complete operational tasks accurately and proactively communicate to ensure smooth execution.

• Understanding of AI solution development, including models, learning patterns, and applications.
• Awareness of security standards and regulatory requirements, with some experience in security measures.

• Evaluating frontier technologies like LLMs, foundation models, vector databases.
• Defining solution requirements via business analysis.
• Developing and deploying machine learning models with modern techniques.
• Integrating models with vector databases and embeddings for semantic search and RAG applications.
• Working within a Data Mesh architecture, collaborating across domains, and deploying solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Masters-level degree or higher.
• Relevant technology certifications (e.g., Microsoft).
• UK security clearance (BPSS or SC) preferred.
• Previous consulting or advisory experience.
