Our goal is to make our customersu2019 delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our u2018under the roofu2019 associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.
Meanwhile, our u2018on the roadu2019 people work with Amazon Flex - a network of delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to overcome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a portfolio of vehicles (including Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.

Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing a company's day-to-day operations and ensuring they align with the overall business strategy for the delivery of a competent, efficient and high performing workforce. This role involves developing and implementing operational plans, managing business processes, and analysing operational efficiency to drive productivity and profitability. High level HR duties, ensuring Health & Safety compliance, attracting talent and development of staff in situ.
Main Responsibilities – Operations Manager
- Developing and executing operational strategies that support the company's overall objectives li>Identifying areas for improvement in processes, workflows, and resource allocation to optimize performance
- Customer contact and account management (and new client enquiries), assessing customer satisfaction, addressing issues and scheduling work
- Managing and controlling budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation, and track spending
- Overseeing and guiding direct reports and the wider teams, fostering a positive, productive workplace li>Ensuring all staff adherence to relevant regulations (Health & Safety), industry standards (ISO9001 and ISO45001), and company policies, while mitigating operational risks li>Working with other departments to ensure seamless operations and achieve business goals
- Identifying and implementing strategies to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and reduce operational bottlenecks li>Focusing on delivering high-quality services and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Compiling a quarterly report for the Board Meeting, presenting operational aspects to the board

As the Operations and Compliance Manager, you'll lead a small team, improve operational efficiency, and champion a safety-first culture across the organisation.
This is a varied role where you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Operations Support team while ensuring regulatory compliance, internal audits, and continuous improvement in processes, SHEQ, and HR coordination.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational management to the Ops Support Team, ensuring all tasks are completed promptly and to a high standard.
- Liaise with management teams across our sites.
- Creation, maintenance and implementation of Ops Support processes.
- Problem solving
- Coordinate performance reviews and support the training and development of the Ops Support team.
- Manage general office HR tasks: Training, documents, compliance, holiday/absence, onboarding.
- Support the business in maintaining accreditations, certifications, and memberships, including preparation for and participation in both internal and external audits.
- Carry out internal audits and spot checks to assess the effectiveness of existing procedures. ISO Standards: 9001, 45001, 14001
- Assist with compliance investigations.
- Provide support with the Safety, Health Environmental and Quality team.
- Development and review of risk assessments, procedures, and training materials.
- Assist with investigations and resolutions of insurance claims on behalf of the business.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Ability to manage and develop a team.
- Operational management experience.
- Previous compliance experience.
- Working knowledge of SO 9001, 45001, and 14001
- Health, Safety & Environmental Knowledge.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proactive and organised approach.
