Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a dedicated maintenance team of 8 engineers (5 Electrical, 3 Mechanical) at a large UK manufacturing site. This role is 100% mechanically focused, supporting two key areas of the business: industrial component manufacturing and pharmaceutical production .
The position is hands-on and varied, covering a wide range of machinery. You'll be responsible for reactive maintenance (80%) , planned preventative maintenance (PPM) (20%) , and project-based engineering work to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities For The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Carry out mechanical maintenance , repairs, and installations across both industrial and pharmaceutical production areas.
- Complete weekly PPM tasks , working towards improving the site's preventative maintenance schedule.
- Use the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) to manage and document tasks.
- Support ongoing projects to upgrade or optimise production equipment.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
