**Role responsibilities:**
+ Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for automating data processes and workflows.

We are looking for a Data Management Specialist to join our Demonstration Data Management Group (DDX), based in the UK and supporting UK and Canadian data environments. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Managers and Leaders across Australia, the UK, the US, and Canada, contributing to the development and maintenance of high-quality demonstration data.

**What You Will Do**
The Amgen Global Clinical Data Management team is looking for an experienced Director to lead our data management team on the aspiration of optimizing and delivering an industry admired clinical evidence platform to deliver innovative medicines to patients with unmet medical needs.
You will lead and manage Data Management (DM) teams within a specific DM operational business unit. The Director will set and drive forward the vision and strategy for DM as a member of the DM and GSO Leadership Team.
You will be accountable for leadership and oversight of the data management organization; ensuring operational excellence and consistency in clinical trial execution. In this role you will be accountable for building and developing a high performing internal data management team, as well as ensuring engagement and alignment of Amgen's strategy and priorities with the Functional Service Provider (FSP).
In this role you will be part of the Global Study Operations (GSO) leadership team, accountable for the delivery of quality clinical trials through industry-leading execution of innovative processes, strong cross-functional partnerships, and best-use of clinical systems and analytics to guide site and study operations. The role will support acceleration of clinical programs and other continuous improvement efforts, applying innovative thinking in shaping future strategy.
Our Global Clinical Data Management Team:
The Global Clinical Data Management Team comprises approximately 50 people. The three Directors, as part of the wider GSO organization and reporting into the Executive Director, Global Study Operations, work together to meet the demands of an industry leading, fast paced, high throughput organization with a commitment to compliance, quality and standards.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Oversight of a distinct DM operational unit (e.g. therapy area, cross-product area)
+ Recruiting, managing and developing staff
+ Global resource planning and assignments
+ Setting of functional goals and objectives
+ Creating and implementing GSO & DM strategies developing, reviewing, implementing and enforcing data standards
+ Ensuring DM processes/systems meet regulatory and business requirements
+ Be an active member of the Leadership Team to provide a foundation for GSO success
**Key activities will include:**
+ Team management including performance, coaching and development
+ Develop, review and implement policies, SOPs and associated documents affecting DM globally
+ Set vision, strategy and direction for DM group; develop annual goals and objectives
+ Accountable for and oversee DM FSP relationships; ensuring goals of product areas and systems groups can be met via the FSP
+ Define and maintain Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators; including oversight of quality and CAPA management
+ Governance oversight -ensure visibility into performance of FSPs to the department
+ Sponsor, Lead and participate in cross functional working groups
+ Resource and budget management for global function Ensure adequate training and capability within area and be accountable for staff compliance with all DM processes
+ Vendor management (development of strategies, contract management, relationship management, etc)
+ Respond to audit/inspection findings
+ Be accountable for and oversee all study deliverables and submission activities for products within group
+ Ensure that status information on DM activities is available and is acted on as needed

**Overview of Resource Management Team:**
The goal of the team is to provide a "one stop solution" for the supply and demand of people across Technology. Ensuring all resource management processes are robust, and deliver the necessary outcomes for Technology. We achieve this by ensuring that resource data is accurate, complete and available on a timely basis through various reporting deliverables. The team work closely with HR, Finance, Project Governance, Project Delivery, Procurement and Technology leads to inform and educate, as well as executing changes directly. The team is divided into two main functions, the role in question fits within the Technology Resource Data Management sub-team.
**Resource Data Management**
+ Manage cleaning resource data in workday.
+ Run training via the new starter induction and creation of org charts on Kizuna.
+ Creation of headcount reporting data monthly / quarterly / annually.
**Technology Recruitment**
+ Process all recruitment requests for BAU and Project. Monitoring budget against hiring / replacing / extending staff.
+ Creation of recruitment and rate reporting.

**The primary purpose of the Resource Data Management Analyst is to:**
+ Own and clean the resource data in workday which is the golden source. The team receives updates on resource data from multiple sources for example line managers and business supports. From that point onwards the teams is to educate others to follow the process, rather than our team completing the actions.
+ Own, produce and publish the headcount data per month, per quarter and annual with the use of excel and power BI.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead daily team stand up via teams.
+ Run daily checks on resource data changes/updates in workday. Method for this is a combination of excel macros and power queries
+ Creation of weekly reporting to HR to highlight changes. Method for this is excel macros.
+ Creation of weekly reporting to line managers to highlight contingent worker end dates within the next 10 weeks. Method for this is excel macros.
+ Co-ordinating with the line managers, HR, procurement and access management regarding JML process.
+ Creation of monthly headcount reporting. Method for this is a combination of excel and power BI.
+ Ensure resource cost data is accurate for reporting into Finance to calculate budgets.
+ Creation of office attendance for contingent workers. Method for this is excel macros.
+ Run the Technology new starter induction, which occurs twice a month.
+ Creation of the Technology organisation chart. Method for this is via Visio.
+ Maintain and enhance good working relationships with the teams stakeholders.
**Skills and Experience:**
Technical Capability
+ Strong excel skills. Be able to build and run macros and power queries.
+ Strong power BI skills. Be able to build and update reporting in power BI.
+ Strong visio skills. Be able to create workflows and org charts.
+ Strong numerical skills. To aid day-to-day activities.
+ Degree level educated. Although equivalent work experience, or apprentice level experience also relevant.

The Events & Transcripts (EVTS) Data team operates at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and AI, delivering market-critical data that powers Bloomberg's Corporate Events and Transcripts product EVTS. From earnings calls and shareholder meetings to product launches and conferences, we maintain a global, centralized calendar of market-moving events enriched with transcripts and AI-driven insights.
Our data is embedded in the daily workflows of analysts, traders, and quantitative analysts who depend on accuracy, timeliness, and coverage to act on market-moving signals. We combine scalable ETL pipelines with human-in-the-loop curation to handle the full data lifecycle, ensuring our content meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
**What's the role?**
Events & Transcripts (EVTS) Data team is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer with a passion for finance, data, and technology to build and optimize pipelines that power Bloomberg's corporate events and transcripts products. You will be a technical leader, responsible for devising scalable solutions that enhance the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our datasets while enabling automation and driving client impact.
In this role, you will be responsible for the transformation, and distribution of structured and unstructured data across EVTS Calendar and Streaming Products. Working closely with Product, Engineering, AI, and Data Technologies, you will modernize our workflows to deliver fit-for-purpose data that underpins critical market workflows.
**We'll Trust You To:**
- Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines that support ingestion, transformation, and delivery of large, complex datasets using Bloomberg's Data Technologies stack (Dataflow Recipes) or equivalent frameworks (AWS S3, Lambda, Kafka, Apache Airflow, Python)
- Acquire and normalize data from diverse structured and unstructured sources, expanding coverage and ensuring transparency in how data is collected, enriched, and delivered.
- Analyze and improve internal processes, applying programmatic and machine learning approaches to increase efficiency and automation.
- Design and implement Control frameworks, applying statistical methods and data profiling to identify, validate, and resolve data gaps at scale.
- Collaborate with Engineering, AI, and Product partners to enhance Data Ingestion pipelines, integrate AI driven automation, and deliver scalable, client-ready datasets.
- Lead modernization efforts to evolve EVTS data workflows, ensuring interoperability across systems and enabling broader reuse of data assets.
- Safeguard the creation of high-quality training data for Generative AI extraction models in collaboration with SMEs/AI Engineering.
- Mentor peers and supply technical leadership, guiding design decisions and fostering knowledge-sharing across the team.
- Stay ahead of industry standard methodologies in data engineering, AI-driven automation frameworks to drive continuous improvement.
- Work in a fast-paced, complex, and collaborative setting and be ready to take a hands-on-role in our Data initiatives.
**You'll Need to Have:**

- BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related STEM/business field, or equivalent professional work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in data quality management, data engineering, or data profiling, ideally within financial data, market research, or technology domains.
- Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets.
- Familiarity with ETL workflows, APIs, and data engineering concepts, with the ability to work across distributed systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in data engineering, with a consistent record of implementing scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows.
- Proven track record to analyze client workflows and dataset usage to ensure data is fit-for-purpose and aligned with business needs.
- Demonstrated expertise in data management principles - including data quality, governance, anomaly detection, and lifecycle management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply quantitative methods to improve processes and guide decisions.
- Strong project management and collaboration skills, with experience leading multi-functional initiatives in fast-paced, global environments.
- Ability to lead multiple projects with global scope in parallel, with superb communication and stakeholder management skills
We'd Love to See:
- Formal knowledge of data governance and data management, supported by industry certifications (e.g. DAMA CDMP, DCAM, etc.)
- Keen interest and familiarity with Generative AI frameworks.
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development methodology, with the ability to adapt processes for data engineering and quality initiatives.
- Experience manipulating and wrangling large datasets to enable scalable quality checks, enrichment, and automation.
