We are seeking General Maintenance Engineer to work on a prestigious government contract. So you must be able to pass SC clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- PPM's - emergency lighting, legionella checks, water temperature checks, fire doors, filter changes.
- Minor building and plumbing work including flushing taps, unblocking etc
- Patching up of plastering and basic decorating
- General building maintenance
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency maintenance
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report findings to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contractors to ensure effective maintenance operations.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of Ravensbourne’s Mechanical and Electrical assets ensuring they are in optimum operating condition by performing preventive maintenance tasks and reactive repairs on the building plant, machinery, fixture, fittings and building fabric.
The role includes.
- Carrying out scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks in maintaining site assets ensuring equipment availability.
- Ensuring routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
- Responding to Building Management System alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.
- Identifying and estimating repair or project works, conforming to best practice and regulations
- Issuing and ensuring appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems
- Ensuring suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the electrical and Mechanical plant.
- Ensuring comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of task sheets – hard copy or electronically as required.
- Ensuring Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and adhered to for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practice
- Ensuring engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.
The Candidate
You have demonstrable knowledge of mechanical and electrical services, fault finding and repairs to standard installations in large commercial buildings.
Experience of working in an environment which includes regular face to face engagement with building managers / stakeholders will be an advantage.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced service technician to join the in-house Service Department. Working in a close team, this role comprises of product repairs, communicating with customers and helping our world-wide service network serve our global customer base, all while looking for opportunities to improve product reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Repairing Focusrite, Focusrite Pro and Novation products by evaluating units, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs to a component level and testing devices.
- Ensuring effective turnaround of products through the department.
- Putting together cost estimates for repairs.
- Assisting our customers and external service partners with remote diagnosis and repair advice via email and telephone.
- Liaising with engineers and manufacturing in a closed-loop feedback system to improve product reliability.
- Creating service documentation to support our Global Service Network.
- Carrying out workshop operations such as unit transfers and booking in spare parts.
- Continually working to improve our systems and processes to deliver the above.
Abilities, skills, and experience required:
- At least 2-3 years electronics repair and servicing experience.
- Knowledge of fault-finding electrical systems to a component level.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience using test equipment such as signal analysers and oscilloscopes.
- A polite and helpful phone and email manner.
- Positive attitude and enthusiastic outlook.
- Collaborative personality, working well as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- Analogue and digital audio electronics experience.
