Berry Recruitment is hiring experienced chefs to work across top-tier venues in London, including 4- and 5-star hotels , private members' clubs , and fine dining establishments .
We're looking for:
- Chef de Parties , Sous Chefs , Head Chefs , Lead Chefs, Pastry Chefs
- Minimum 4 years' experience in professional kitchens
- Strong fine dining background and excellent knife skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in new, fast-paced environments
- Experience in high-volume events (up to 500 covers)
Pay: 15-20 per hour (varies by venue and role)
Shifts: Flexible - you choose when you work
Requirements:
- Valid Food Safety Level 2 & Allergen certificates (we can assist)
- NVQ Level 1-3 or equivalent experience

We are currently looking for an experienced Sous Chef at Royal Exchange Restaurant and Bar. This is an exciting position for a Bartender looking to develop their knowledge in the finest beverages that we offer.

Key Accountabilities
* Working with the Senior Team to ensure the food is delivered to the highest standard in the section of responsibility
* Coach and develop CDP’S and Commis Chefs to ensure their skills are being enhanced, leading by example
* Check the Section for standards regularly ensuring that all audits and temperature checks are completed
* Take ownership of the stocktake and feedback any key indicators to the Head chef
* Pre-empt any pinch points within the kitchen, and highlight them to your line manager
* Work with the Senior Chefs to help produce monthly reporting for the Kitchen
* Work closely with the Restaurant team to ensure a collaborative partnership between front and back of house
* Communicate effectively ensuring that the teams are aware of the menu
* Demonstrate high levels of planning, organising, and time management to drive the operational execution across the section
* Ensure adherence to company policies, controls and standards (e.g. due diligence, cleanliness, and HSE)
* Monitor and maintain inventory, ensuring these are highlighted to the Senior Chefs
* Deliver feedback and coach the team on a regular basis, ensuring achievement is recognised by the senior team
* Identify training needs of your team

This post is working 35 hours per week working 5 days out of 7 and will include some weekends. Shifts are either 7am to 2.30pm or 11.30am to 7pm.

- Ensuring all food produced is to the agreed standard, developing innovative approaches ensuring market trends, cultural requirements and Kashrut laws are met
- Ensuring all food hygiene and Health & Safety practices are monitored, met, and recorded in line with organisational policies and current legislations
- Working within the agreed budget, administer unit controls in line with budget and consistently seek and implement ways of improving the quality and cost effectiveness of the service
- Leading, motivating and encouraging team building to ensure agreed qualitative outcomes are achieved and customer service expectations are exceeded and maintained
You will ideally have previous experience working within a busy kitchen environment, working both independently and within a team. You will need:
- Appropriate supervisory experience and relevant qualifications pertaining to the safe delivery of Food & Hygiene or Catering Services. NVQ Level 2 or 3
- Energetic, passionate and proactive attitude
- Experience of working to deadlines and adhering to budgetary requirements.
