Our client are seeking a Community Mental Health Support Worker to join an established community team based in Stockport, working borough wide.
- To work on an individual basis, in the community with service users from diverse backgrounds who present with a wide range of mental health problems, life style choices and or chaotic life styles
- Manage your own caseload, providing a service to people within their own homes in the community
- Assist and support service users to recover their mental health and to lead the lives they choose
- Try to prevent the loss of employment, relationships and skills and to help service users maintain and recover their roles in society
- Development and implementation of care plans
- Support service users in making their views known
- Provide practical and emotional support to our services users
- Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary
- Keep and maintain records of work
- UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
- Experience in mental health services
- Commitment to promoting the needs of people with mental health problems and their carer’s
- An ability to act calmly in emergencies and to respond in a professional manner to stressful and challenging behaviour
