Job Description
- You independently manage end-to-end strategy project executions and lead a team of consultants who conduct structured analysis and primary research to gain new insights that inform your client recommendations.
- You serve as a point of contact for clients and identify opportunities for client relationship building and development.
- You foster a high-performance culture within the team by overseeing the day-to-day execution of client projects and guiding the individual development of junior colleagues.
- You lead the activities using internal tools, such as database or Strategy in Action Platform to support clients in strategy definition and execution
- You lead workshops with various target audiences and present the most practical way to achieve lasting results based on your insights at team and client meetings.
- You work in complex, highly dynamic contexts as a project manager and also provide operational support by structuring analyses.
- You support the growth of the business through the development of both commercial leads and intellectual capital.
- With the entire 3HORIZONS team, you actively contribute your own ideas to the development of the company, participating in the advancement of our technologies, methods, and consulting approaches.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English is mandatory; the knowledge of a second language is preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience in business strategy or in a top management consulting firm or similar.
- Master's degree from a top university with an outstanding academic record (technical background is an advantage); an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
- PhD and/or experience in the academic world is advantageous.
- Proven track record of high performance and significant achievements in your previous roles.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully influence partners and executives.

Our client, a leading strategy consultancy is seeking a Senior Manager / Associate Director to join and play a leading role, focusing on deal strategy within the media industry as a part of the wider TMT sector, with scope to work on the wider range of services including growth strategy, cost and operational strategy (including economic profitability analysis) and enterprise-wide transformation. You will be the second hire of a newly established team that has plans to grow to fifteen staff in the next 2-3 years, and you will play an instrumental part in helping to shape the growth of this team.
Responsibilities:
- Take a leadership role with the team and to hold a high quality, credible reputation with clients and in the broader market – experience of a range of M&A related projects will be critical, e.g. Commercial DD, M&A Strategy, Value creation, etc.
- Design and run mid-sized to large projects and / or very large, complex workstreams.
- Act as primary client liaison on Firm engagements and act as an 'ambassador' for the firm.
- Produce client-ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require minimal review.
- Develop solutions to complex problems and challenge the thinking of more senior colleagues and clients.
- Help design - and guide junior staff to - execute detailed financial / business models performing complex scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Provide timely feedback and coaching to other team members.
- Identify go-to-market and marketing opportunities and assume day-to-day responsibility for taking these to clients.

- Experience of leading mid-sized and large projects: designing work plans, team structures and then managing these to (i) excellent client output and (ii) strong project economics.
- This should include an extensive coverage of recent M&A transactions, eg CDD, VDD, M&A Strategy or Value Creation projects in the Media sector.
- Evidence of taking responsibility for designing proposals, scopes and pricing for mid-sized and large consulting assignments.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with team members and broader (internal and external) stakeholders.
- Strong track record of building followership among more junior staff members.
- Pro-active role in business development activity, designing client ready pitches, generating differentiated insights and holding personal client relationships.
- Non-client facing roles in driving practice forward in areas such as team management, training, technical tool development, liaison with service suppliers etc.

Our global consulting client's Strategy function continues to grow at pace and they are seeking someone exceptional to take a senior leadership role in their Retail, Consumer and Leisure team. This person our client seeks will have significant commercial due diligence, deal strategy and private equity experience, however our client also values people with additional experience in propositions such as growth strategy, cost and operational strategy and enterprise wide transformation.
Exceptional senior managers / associate directors can be taken in to consideration for this position.
Role and responsibilities:
- Have existing client relationships, particularly with the UK/European Private Equity and M&A community, which reinforce the team’s credibility and generate project opportunities – extensive experience of M&A related projects will be critical, eg Commercial DD, M&A Strategy, Value creation, etc.
- Take responsibility for client relationships and act as a key contact point for those clients.
- Have the ability to anticipate, understand and articulate client requirements – in advance of and during projects.
- Demonstrate excellent communications skills – in written, slide and other reporting formats as well as verbal communications in informal and more formal situations.
- Lead the presentation of findings to senior clients and be comfortable in challenging the thinking of both clients and more senior Firm colleagues.
- Design and run large, complex projects, delivering to client requirements whilst acting as primary client liaison and be an 'ambassador' for the firm.
- With limited input, guide the team to client-ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require minimal review.
- Support and test/review the design and execution complex analyses to ensure these are credible and accurate.

- Strong foundational understanding of the value drivers across the broadly defined Consumer sector: Consumer Goods, Retail & Travel & Leisure businesses – and clear view on how these sectors are likely to evolve going forward.
- Experience of leading mid-sized and large projects: designing work plans, team structures and then managing these to (i) excellent client output and (ii) strong project economics.
- This should include an extensive coverage of recent M&A transactions, eg CDD, VDD, M&A Strategy or Value Creation projects in the Consumer sector.
- Ability to independently generate sales opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
