What you'll be doing…

The Content Editor, Newsletters position is an exciting new role that will be responsible for all the email newsletter output across Homes & Gardens and Livingetc, creating brilliant products that deliver traffic to the websites and also engage the audience on platform. Your task is to nurture our email audience and ensure they engage with the content. You’ll handle building, scheduling, QA, approvals and final deployment.

This position will be a part of the CRM/Email team at Future, which sits within the wider Audience team operating within the B2C division. As a member of the email team, you are a core central function to the business, supporting and collaborating closely with many additional teams at Future and working very closely with the Homes & Gardens and Livingetc editorial teams. The Content Editor, Newsletters will ensure appropriate copy and voice for the brands are portrayed within newsletters, while being responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of all campaigns.

  • You may also do some editing work for other subject areas across the Conduit Team;

You’ll act as a content guardian for your accounts, ensuring our creative output is rooted in editorial strategy, informed by social best practice and on the pulse when it comes to culture and innovation.  

Core Responsibilities 

  • Write engaging content for social channels
  • Produce long & short-form storytelling for a variety of social & digital placements 
  • Lead on the creation & delivery of high-impact editorial calendars   
  • Push creative thinking & work closely with creatives, producers, video editors & co-creators to develop compelling stories to support your editorial plans  
  • Work closely with strategists & creatives to interpret client briefs & develop content plans / campaign proposals 
  • Adapt content ideas & copy for different social media channels, understanding platform nuances and tone 
  • Support other editorial & strategy colleagues in developing editorial strategies for clients – helping them to align their overall brand and creative proposition with their wider content output 

Requirements

Must-Haves 

  • Ability to write accurate, clear, concise and grammatically correct copy 
  • A strong understanding of storytelling for short-form content 
  • A background in writing for different social channels (including dark formats) 
  • An ability to flex your content ideas & tone across different brands/sectors 
  • A good understanding of commercial content and what stories will be attractive to which audiences 
  • A keen eye for cultural trends & an ability to ideate reactively  
  • Non-stop ideas and strong attention for detail 
  • An interest in audience insights & approaching content strategically 
  • A passion for advertising and branded content 
  • Experience working in a creative environment  
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to build relationships 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

TVBEurope is the leading trade media brand serving the media and entertainment technology industry. Through its website, newsletters, virtual events, magazine, and digital publications, it informs decision makers (CEOs, CTOs, Chief Engineers, heads of department) at broadcasters & content providers such as the BBC, Sky, Netflix, Google, ITN, Al Jazeera, Amazon, BT, and more, on a daily basis.

We are creating an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join the team as a Content Writer to work with the Editor on all aspects of TVBEurope’s content creation. Not only that, you will be entering a fast-moving and inspiring marketplace full of innovative technology and amazing people who all work together to bring modern entertainment to the world’s small(er) screens.

What you'll be doing.

As Content Writer, you will be the driving force behind TVBEurope’s daily engagement with the M&E marketplace. Working with the Editor, you will write daily news content for the brand’s website, curate and manage online content for the daily and weekly newsletters, manage social posts, and write feature articles, conduct interviews, and provide sub-editing duties for the magazine (eight issues per year).

You will have lots of interaction with the M&E market and due to TVBEurope’s standing as one of the most trusted brands in the space, you will very quickly become an important and respected part of the broadcast community.

You may be required to attend trade shows and industry events under the direction of the Editor. Major trade shows include IBC, Amsterdam; NAB, London; ISE, Barcelona.

TVBEurope parent company Future publishes the ISE Show Daily; the official newspaper of the largest trade show in the professional audiovisual (AV) industry. The role may also be required to carry out various duties in support of the Daily team.

Working with the Editor, and the sales and production teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Writing daily news content for the website
  • Researching and creating regular feature content for the website
  • Curating and managing the daily and weekly newsletters
  • Writing at least one long-form feature for each issue of the magazine
  • Writing/managing content for other magazine articles
  • Managing the brand’s social media accounts
  • Assisting the Editor with developing monthly content plans for the magazines, website, and ad-hoc publications

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve.

We are looking for someone with strong editorial skills who has an appetite to grow their career with us. The experience and skills we are looking for, include:

  • Degree-level qualification in journalism or a relevant subject: English, Media, Broadcast, is preferred but not essential
  • Previous professional experience in writing for business-to-business (B2B) audiences
  • Experience with the workflow of producing a magazine (monthly/weekly/quarterly)
  • Experience with digital publications (ebooks, digital editions)
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and externally; the role will require brand representation at trade shows, client meetings, and industry events
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Ability to translate technical information and PR jargon into palatable, engaging stories
