Cell Press is excited to announce the launch of a new Review journal dedicated to publishing high-quality Reviews in all areas of life and physical sciences. This journal aims to provide a platform for accessible articles that distill and synthesize advances of significance to specialists within each field.
About The Role
Med is a flagship medical journal published monthly by Cell Press, the global publisher of trusted and authoritative science journals including Cell, Cancer Cell , and Cell Reports Medicine . We are a small and friendly team priding ourselves on offering a personalized service to the authors who publish with us. The Senior Scientific Editor will work collaboratively with the Editor-in-Chief and fellow editors in all aspects of the organization and preparation of the journal.

This is a full-time editorial position based in one of our Elsevier offices in the US (Cambridge, MA), UK (London, Oxford), The Netherlands (Amsterdam), and China (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen). Responsibilities
+ Assessing submitted research papers critically and make editorial recommendations.
+ Providing outstanding author service and oversee the peer review process.
+ Establishing relationships with scientists through outreach to medical communities and recruit exciting clinical research.
+ Commissioning and editing Review and Perspective articles, as well as other front matter content.
+ Commissioning and creating content for the journal homepage, blog and social media outlets.
+ Traveling to scientific conferences and visit academic institutes.
+ Strengthening and building the visibility and reputation of the journal.
+ Contributing to strategic planning and journal development with the Editor-in-Chief.
+ Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond.
+ Organizing scientific conferences and contribute to Cell Press growth and innovation projects.
Requirements
+ Have a higher degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline (eg, biomedical science, public health), or a medical degree (MD). A post-doc experience is valued but not an absolute requirement.
+ Have research experience in a relevant field or experience in the wider development community, with a track record of peer-reviewed publications.
+ Have editorial experience, with a good understanding of all aspects of the journal publishing process, would be an added advantage but not an absolute requirement.
+ Display critical thinking and the willingness to learn and absorb new areas of research.
+ Exhibit genuine commitment to equity in health and health care.
+ Have a talent for clear communication, verbal and written.

About The Role
As our Content Editor you will be responsible for creating interview questions and conducting Teams interviews with senior company directors to produce ‘company insights’ for the magazine portfolio. Interviews are recorded and transcribed, but the Content Editor must check accuracy and use the material to draft articles.
Editors typically complete at least one article per day, with another in progress, aiming for two per day. They may also produce insights from written Q&As, company websites, and support other editorial tasks such as proofreading, newsletters, ad/web copy, and news items.
The role includes drafting questions, incorporating client amends, filing copy with the art editor, and updating Hubspot CRM throughout the process. Strong collaboration with colleagues and some administrative support are also required
