Our client, a globally renowned contemporary art institution dedicated to showcasing innovative and cutting-edge artistic practices, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Lead Curator specializing in Digital Art and New Media. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to manage your curatorial work from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for developing and executing a dynamic exhibition program, managing a significant collection of digital artworks, and fostering engagement with artists, audiences, and scholars in the field. This role requires a profound understanding of contemporary art history, digital technologies, and the evolving landscape of new media art.

- Conceptualize, research, and organize major exhibitions and public programs focused on digital art, video art, net art, AI-generated art, and other new media practices.
- Acquire, conserve, and manage a growing collection of digital and new media artworks, ensuring proper preservation strategies are in place.
- Develop and maintain relationships with emerging and established digital artists, galleries, and institutions worldwide.
- Write compelling curatorial statements, exhibition essays, catalogue contributions, and other interpretive materials.
- Engage with audiences through talks, tours, panel discussions, and online content.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including education, marketing, and development, to support exhibition and program goals.
- Stay abreast of critical discourse, technological advancements, and artistic trends in digital art and new media.
- Oversee budget management for exhibitions and collection-related projects.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and vision for the institution's engagement with digital art.
- Advise on digital infrastructure and technological requirements for presenting and preserving new media art.
- Supervise and mentor assistant curators or interns as needed.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Art History, Curatorial Studies, Media Studies, or a related field, with a specialization in digital art or new media.
- Minimum of 6 years of curatorial experience, with a demonstrated track record of organizing significant exhibitions and managing collections of digital or new media art.
- In-depth knowledge of art history, critical theory, and the technical aspects of digital art production and preservation.
- Strong research, writing, and public speaking skills.
- Established network within the international digital art community.
- Experience with digital preservation techniques and technologies.
- Proficiency in project management and budget oversight.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
