The Role
You will work with the business to identify business drivers, KPIs or decisions that can be informed by data. You will apply your knowledge of visualisation tools to design and build interactive dashboards that quickly communicate insights. You prepare data by extracting it from a variety of different data sources, blending it together to make it usable. As a Data Visualisation Consultant, you will understand common challenges in data structures and strategies. You will build data visualisations and dashboards that are extensible, scalable, and performant, often in a highly agile and iterative process.
You will enjoy this role if you like a blend of business-facing work, technical data work, and creative design. This role requires working closely with business leaders to drive strategy and change through data insights. The technical work can include sifting through very complicated data structures and SQL statements to discover those insights plus, the creative visual design work, which leverages BI technology like Tableau and Power BI to find intuitive ways of communicating insights.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define industry-leading analytics solutions for a wide variety of industries and business groups.
- Architect, design, implement end-to-end BI solutions and supporting architecture.
- Research and evaluate potential technology solutions to meet business needs.
- Bring thought leadership and ensure best practices and standards of BI solutions.
- Conduct and lead white-boarding sessions, workshops, design sessions, and project meetings as needed, playing a key role in client relations.
- Integrate user requirements into the solution to ensure a high degree of business value.
- Create clear functional and technical documentation.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, foreign degree or field experience equivalent.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in business intelligence and designing, developing, testing and implementing data warehouses.
- Understanding of Data Modeling concepts.
- Experience with Data Visualisation tool like Microsoft Power BI (essential), Tableau (nice to have), QuickSight (nice to have), etc.
- Understand different types of storage (Relational, MPP, NoSQL) and working with different kinds of data (structured, unstructured, metrics, logs, etc.)
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written/oral communication and presentation/interpersonal skills.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Prior experience in consultingis desirable
