HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a dedicated and detail-orientated Legal Assistant to join our Education Law team. This role will be primarily supporting two fee earners. It provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting clients in navigating education-related legal issues, including special educational needs (SEN) and other educational rights.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with inquiries related to education law and providing timely updates on case progress.
- Opening and closing client files, ensuring all processes comply with legal and regulatory standards.
- Conducting legal research on education law and relevant legislation.
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and reports for clients and solicitors.
- Supporting solicitors in preparing for hearings, appeals, and meetings.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation within our case management system.
- Performing general administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
Requirements
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- A high degree of discretion and sensitivity in handling client information.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Previous experience in education law or a legal environment is advantageous but not required.
