We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mobile Outdoor Education Teacher for a September 2025 start . This is a truly unique opportunity for an unqualified teacher or experienced instructor to lead engaging and dynamic learning experiences across various beautiful locations. Your classroom will be a purpose-built 7-meter motor-home, which you will be responsible for driving and maintaining.

You will play a crucial role in bringing educational projects to life, teaching students about a range of subjects, from environmental science and bushcraft to geography and history, all in an outdoor setting.

• Drive a 7-meter motor-home safely and confidently to different educational sites.

• Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on outdoor education lessons to small groups of students (ages (e.g., 8-16)).

• Manage the mobile classroom, including basic maintenance and ensuring it is clean and well-stocked.

• Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils at all times, adhering to all company policies.

• Work closely with schools and other organisations to tailor educational programs.

We are looking for a resilient, creative, and highly responsible individual with a passion for experiential learning.

Essential Requirements:

• A full, clean UK driving license with the C1 endorsement , which is required to drive vehicles over 3.5 tonnes (up to 7.5 tonnes).

• Proven experience in outdoor education, youth work, or a similar instructional role.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage small groups of children.

• A strong knowledge of child safety and a positive, can-do attitude.

• The ability to live and work in a mobile environment for periods of time.

Desirable Qualifications:

• First Aid qualification (e.g., Outdoor First Aid).

• Relevant qualifications in a specific outdoor activity (e.g., paddle sports, climbing).

This unique role is perfect for someone with significant experience in outdoor education, even if you don't hold QTS, who can engage and inspire students who benefit from a hands-on, active learning approach.

As our Outdoor Education Teacher, you'll be instrumental in delivering our curriculum through practical, nature-based activities. You'll:

• Lead Engaging Outdoor Sessions: Plan and deliver a variety of outdoor education activities, such as bushcraft, forest school, horticulture, navigation, survival skills, or environmental studies.

• Inspire Learning: Engage students who may struggle in a traditional classroom, fostering their curiosity, practical skills, and personal growth.

• Support Student Development: Work closely with students, understanding their individual needs and helping them develop self-esteem, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ensure Safety: Maintain high standards of health and safety during all outdoor activities, conducting risk assessments and ensuring appropriate equipment use.

• Collaborate: Work effectively with qualified teachers, support staff, and the wider AP team to integrate outdoor learning with the broader curriculum and student support plans.

• Monitor Progress: Record and report on student participation, engagement, and development during outdoor sessions.

• Significant experience in delivering outdoor education or similar practical/experiential learning programs. This could include roles in forest schools, outdoor activity centres, youth work, or similar.

• Strong practical skills relevant to outdoor education (e.g., bushcraft, navigation, gardening, basic tool use).

• A genuine passion for working with young people who may have faced challenges in mainstream education.

• An understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to ensuring the welfare of all students.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.

• Patience, resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to challenges.

• Relevant outdoor qualifications (e.g., Forest School Leader, Mountain Leader, First Aid) are highly desirable.

• Experience working with students with SEN, SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) needs, or challenging behaviours is a significant advantage.

• An Enhanced DBS check will be required upon appointment.

• A full UK Driving Licence is often beneficial for transporting equipment or accessing sites, but a D1 licence is not essential for this specific role unless driving a school minibus is a core duty. (If D1 is required, add it here and in the title).
