Under the reasonable direction of the Deputy Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, carry out the professional duties of a schoolteacher as set out in the current School policies. Teach in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of the teaching team and as detailed in the specific duties and core standards below.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver engaging, tailored Maths lessons to pupils with complex needs, including SEMH and Autism
- Lead the development of Maths across the school, including curriculum planning, assessment, and intervention strategies
- Build Maths confidence and curiosity in pupils who may have disengaged from education in the past
- Work closely with colleagues to support a cross-curricular, inclusive approach to Maths
- Monitor pupil progress, track data, and use insights to drive continual improvement
- Champion numeracy across the school — from classroom practice to whole-school events
- Be a visible subject leader and role model of excellent teaching practice
- Contribute to the school’s strong safeguarding culture and pastoral support systems

Job Title: SEN Teacher with Maths Specialism
Location: The Holden School, Leigh WN7 4SB
Salary: Up to £37,000.00 per annum ( not pro rata )
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

About the Role

You will bring creativity and practicality to your teaching, helping students engage with manipulatives and hands-on learning, particularly in Maths, while fostering confidence and independence. This role is perfect for teachers early in their career looking to grow into a Subject Lead, or experienced Subject Leads eager to strengthen our bespoke curriculum and make a lasting impact.

Qualifications Required
- UK QTS or equivalent
