What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting resolution of technical queries both production and in service aircraft
  • Leading the generation of TBR (Technical bid review) presentation material in support of bid activities
  • Generating documentation to support engineering reviews
  • Hosting and supporting Engineering reviews and discussions with internal and external stakeholder
  • Supporting activities to assure airframe products are appropriately qualified & certified
  • Supporting activities to ensure robust & effective processes are established (& maintained) to support effective, efficient & compliant product delivery.
  • Being involved in continuous improvement activities to further develop & deploy existing and new capabilities to enhance the efficiencies of the F-35 production line

Your skills and experiences

Essential:

  • A Degree, HND or equivalent experience in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Engineering Integration and Data Management skills and competence within an engineering discipline
  • A good understanding of and experience with product lifecycle management toolsets

Desirable:

  • The ability to communicate with stakeholder at all levels of seniority with internal and external stakeholders
  • Beneficial to have knowledge or exposure to the principles of the full engineering lifecycle

The F-35 Airframe Engineering Integration team

As an F-35 Airframe Integration Engineer, you will support the programme with engineering delivery, safety, governance, assurance, certification, change and technical issues. Within this role, you will work collaboratively and cross functionally, gaining exposure to a variety of different areas in order to support the aircraft.

Within this role you will gain exposure to people management as well as opportunities to liaise with various teams, creating strong career development pathways.

Main duties of the job

You'll lead our in-house maintenance team with overall responsibility for managing the Engineering Department, ensuring all building services and equipment are compliant with statutory legislation and guidance. Our team consists of Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing trades supported via Engineering Managers, all of whom are in-house and directly employed NHS staff. We are also supported via external contracts with specialist providers where necessary.

Communication

  • Respond to complaints and concerns from the public regarding services or equipment maintenance. Provide a response which is empathetic in relation to the issues involved.

  • Provide a source of expertise, information, and training for equipment users at all levels.
  • Manage the recruitment, appointment, induction, training, and retention of staff, including chairing interview panels.
  • Ensure that Workforce policies and management standards are adhered to.
  • Deliver difficult and challenging conversations and management meetings, as required, to ensure management processes and standards are adhered to.
  • Manage and support the Trust Energy Manager (band 7)

Person Specification Qualifications & Education
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Charter Status or equivalent within a relevant Building Services or Engineering professional body

AI-generated job applications can often be generic, impersonal and may not accurately reflect your qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experiences. It is crucial that you personalise your supporting statement by articulating these in your unique voice. Relying solely on AI to write your application or supporting information section is not advocated by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and could negatively impact your chances of success in the application process.

Supporting Information

The supporting information section is an opportunity for you to showcase how your qualifications, knowledge, skill and experiences align with the requirements and criteria outlined in the job description and person.

Our recruiting managers score applications based on the criteria listed in the person specification. They will be looking for evidence of how you meet these criteria. To increase your chances of securing an interview, provide examples of how you have applied your skills and knowledge in real-life situations. Share work-related successes and challenges you’ve navigated that align with the criteria. These could be from various aspects of your life, including work, education, and personal experiences.

Consider structuring your supporting information section with clear headings or bullet points. This approach will help both you and the recruiting manager navigate through your application more effectively.

Disclosure and Barring Service checks

If the role you’ve applied for requires a Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check we will administer this on your behalf and the cost will be recovered from your salary, either as a one-off payment, or over 3 months. The level of check required depends on the role that you have been offered. Currently the charges are - Basic DBS check £26.40 Standard DBS check £26.40 and Enhan d DBS check 4.40. You should be aware that if you are successful in obtaining a position that requires a DBS check but later withdraw your application, you may be required to reimburse the cost of the DBS check.
