Your new role

Our client is seeking an Estimator to join their pre-construction team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further their career within a progressive contractor, with clear routes for development. You will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and timely tenders across a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure schemes.



Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for highways and civil engineering projects.

  • Reviewing tender documentation and identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.

  • Engaging with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to secure competitive prices.

  • Producing tender submissions and supporting bid presentations.

Your new role

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a pivotal role, supporting construction, commercial, and H&S teams through the management and communication of all technical aspects relating to ongoing projects.

Duties and Responsibilities;

Attend tender reviews, pre start meetings

Liaise with commercial teams to ensure all necessary permits/licences are either in place or planned.

Carry out take offs, checks, approvals and scheduling of material call offs where necessary

Production of build programmes (infrastructure works).

Ensure earthworks strategy is in place and understood by all departments (3D models, stockpile locations, cut/fill/surplus quantities).

Ensure all pre start checks have been carried out and survey has been undertaken.

Liaise with adopting authorities (highways and sewers).

Ensure site teams and sub contractors are constructing to correct specifications

Oversee & monitor engineers with respect to setting out, as built drawings (roads, sewers)

Manage and oversee all adoption works

Production of 3D modelling, cut/fill and earthworks analysis.

Experience & Skills Required;

Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (not essential)

Previous experience as a Site Engineer (on residential groundworks projexts)

Strong knowledge of: Sewers for Adoption and Section 38, 111, 228, 278 works

Proficient in AutoCAD

Good communication and management skills

Ability to organise workload effectively for the purpose of meeting deadlines

Ability to work autonomously and flexibly, responding to business needs
