IT Manager / Systems & Support Manager Required by professional services company with systems and support team dispersed across multiple UK locations servicing a global operation.


NOTE: This role is offered by the Recruitment Division at Comtecs and based at a global professional services company with offices in London and Lancaster (where this role is based).


Working within a full life-cycle IT management capacity successful candidate will manage a small team and oversee the support and management of the global business systems whilst working to improve the environment via project delivery and service management practices largely focused around ITIL. You will work in a hands-on capacity where appropriate but ultimately have responsibility for the oversight for the:


  • Management and maintenance of all systems - hardware, software, telephony, and data networks.
  • Day-to-day system operations, on-premise and Azure cloud networks and server infrastructure.
  • Support the management and delivery of projects related to business and infrastructure environments
  • Maintain technical oversight of core Windows server is your cloud office 365/exchange mail server environments as well as L2/L3 network environments as well as Desktop infrastructure for a medium-sized global business
  • Develop and manage technology policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Manage and develop a small team of engineers across multiple locations in the UK.


We are open to receiving applications from all areas of industry including academia/education and seek a mix of technical and managerial experience and capabilities:


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and server technologies, Microsoft 365 Office, particularly Exchange and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of layer 2 and 3 networks, IPS/IDS firewalls
  • On prem and cloud based backups; Sage and other business applications.
  • Management of small multidisciplinary teams
  • Service delivery and project management
  • ITIL awareness
