Role Summary


As Engineering Coordinator , you’ll manage the planning, administration, and communication that support our engineering operations. From maintenance scheduling and spare part tracking to compliance documentation and contractor coordination — you’ll be the link that connects the team and keeps everything moving.

This is a central support role for someone who thrives on structure, process, and attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities


Engineering Support and Planning

Schedule preventative maintenance and coordinate engineer workloads

Track outstanding work orders and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks

Support the Engineering Manager with resource planning, KPIs, and priorities


Inventory and Spare Parts

Monitor engineering stock levels and reorder critical parts as required

Maintain accurate records of parts usage, orders, and deliveries

Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely availability of components


Documentation and Compliance

Maintain up-to-date records of maintenance logs, equipment histories, and service reports

Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits

Track compliance with safety protocols and inspection schedules


Contractor and External Coordination

Support the booking, onboarding, and supervision of engineering contractors

Ensure contractors meet site health and safety and compliance requirements


Requirements

Experience in engineering admin, maintenance coordination, or technical planning

About the role:

About the role


To lead, mentor, and manage CAD Technicians and Junior Technicians in delivering high-quality, sustainable digital and CAD solutions across civil engineering projects. The role ensures technical excellence, compliance with quality standards, and supports the development of the UK practice.


Key Responsibilities;


Leadership & Team Development

·Review the initial draft question paper(s) and mark scheme(s). Check that the nature and range of responses required by the mark scheme are appropriate.
·Comment on individual questions and responses and the draft question paper(s) as a whole.

·Complete a full report concerning each question paper and submit it to the Content Production Manager (CPM) before the Question Paper Evaluation Committee (QPEC) meeting is due to be held. 
·Attend the review meeting/Question Paper Evaluation Committee (QPEC) meeting and therefore contribute to the production of the final draft paper(s) which will be sent to be typeset.

Where you’ll be based

You will be based at Springfield Hospital, however you will participate in an on-call system that covers Oaks Hospital located in Colchester (1 in 6 weeks), whilst also attending Oaks Hospital as and when required.

What you’ll bring with you

  • A very organised approach with an ability to work well under pressure

  • Ability to work to deadlines

  • Experience in line managing in a Maintenance Environment post apprenticeship or qualifications gained.

  • Experience in managing and co-ordinating Contractors and Service Engineers

  • City& Guilds Part 1/2, NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering essential

  • Time served apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical biased discipline preferred

  • Fire safety or Fire Risk Assessment training desirable

  • Understanding of Quality Management, customer satisfaction and the continuous improvement process

  • Duel or multi-skilled with the core preferably Electrical

  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety guidelines and applicable law

  • Understanding of Legionella prevention requirements within Hospital buildings

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Sound fault finding techniques

  • IT aware / competent
