An established, multi-site manufacturing business with a large production facility in Durham is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their growing team.
This is a key role within the Engineering Department, offering a 50/50 blend of hands-on maintenance and strategic leadership . You'll support the Engineering Manager in driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across the plant.
About the Engineering Supervisor Role:
- Support the Engineering Manager in leading a team of 6 engineers
- Lead by example across both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks
- Drive continuous improvement projects to boost equipment performance and reduce downtime
- Work closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimise production flow
- Ensure PPM schedules are adhered to and compliance standards are maintained
- Mentor and support team members to build technical capability and a proactive culture
Ideal Candidate for the Supervisor Role:
- Apprentice-trained or formally qualified
- in Engineering (mechanical/electrical)
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Multi-skilled with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical fault-finding
- Capable of basic PLC fault diagnosis
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communicator and team motivator
