Our client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Civil Engineering Technician to join their expanding civil design team based in Newcastle. Working as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary consultancy, this role offers the opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of infrastructure and development projects, with a strong focus on residential and commercial schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
·Support civil engineers in the preparation of detailed design drawings and technical reports for infrastructure projects.
·Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, models, and plans for highways, drainage, and external works using software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
·Assist in the design and drafting of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), road layouts, and utility coordination.
·Collaborate with other disciplines across planning, structural engineering, and transport to ensure integrated project delivery.
·Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities to help ensure smooth progress through technical approvals and construction stages.
·Contribute to maintaining project documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant design standards and legislation.
Requirements:
·HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
·A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a consultancy or civil design environment.
·Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
·Knowledge of UK design standards for highways and drainage.
·Strong communication and organisational skills.
