An established, multi-site manufacturing business with a large production facility in Durham is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their growing team.

This is a key role within the Engineering Department, offering a 50/50 blend of hands-on maintenance and strategic leadership . You'll support the Engineering Manager in driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across the plant.

About the Engineering Supervisor Role:

  • Support the Engineering Manager in leading a team of 6 engineers
  • Lead by example across both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to boost equipment performance and reduce downtime
  • Work closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimise production flow
  • Ensure PPM schedules are adhered to and compliance standards are maintained
  • Mentor and support team members to build technical capability and a proactive culture

Ideal Candidate for the Supervisor Role:

  • Apprentice-trained or formally qualified
  • in Engineering (mechanical/electrical)
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Multi-skilled with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical fault-finding
  • Capable of basic PLC fault diagnosis
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong communicator and team motivator

The only essential experience you require for this role is working with AutoCAD and MicroDrainage, ideally, within a Civil Engineering Environment. The role will be centred around draughting designs, produced whilst working alongside Civil Engineers, for highways and drainage developments that are in accordance with Section 38s, 104s and 278s of the NRSWA.
