As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work on a range of projects in the energy and renewable power sector, with a focus on providing Process Safety inputs as well as engineering delivery and management of tasks and deliverables. Provide engineering design and technical advisory services to a diverse range of clients; ensuring all technical design work is completed in accordance with local standards and sound engineering principles;
Provide expertise on process hazard analysis, including chairing HAZID and sometimes HAZOP studies associated with the teamu2019s projects and advising clients on needs for safety studies and contributing to and reviewing safety studies completed by contractors for compliance with requirements on behalf of our clients;
Work with Process Safety professionals within the wider AECOM business to develop collaboration opportunities and enhance quality of service in this area for our clients;
Take responsibility for the delivery of technical and other deliverables as part of projects on behalf of project managers within our own team and the wider AECOM organisation;
Prepare and present bids and proposals including cost estimates and supporting materials;
Work closely with project teams to ensure timely provision of coordinated and quality engineering deliverables;
Actively foster and strengthen relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers; developing new relationships in the pursuit of winning work for the energy business;

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (or equivalent);
Considerable technical experience in power generation, industrial process, CCUS and/or future fuels projects, preferably within a consulting environment;
Demonstrable experience in process hazard analysis, ideally with formal training in delivering safety studies;
Understanding of process safety regulations including COMAH and ATEX regimes, ideally with knowledge of how these apply to Hydrogen and derivatives.

  • Define Project requirements and present solutions to clients
  • Carry out structural analysis and calculations for various structural projects

  • Conduct structural calculations and vehicle dynamics assessments

This multi-accredited contractor specialises in delivering tailored civil engineering solutions across the water and utilities industries for local authorities and high-profile Tier 1 contractors appointed on the Severn Trent Water framework. This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Coventry office.


Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Analysing and managing commercial risks
  • Interpreting client requirements and supporting feasibility studies
  • Reviewing tender documents and assessing costs
  • Allocating work to subcontractors and coordinating with site teams
  • Preparing interim valuations and managing cost reporting

What you'll need to succeed

Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Financial monitoring and reporting of contracts assigned
  • Preparing accurate financial statements in respect of contracts assigned
  • Ensuring proper administration of the contract requirements, including all variations to the works
  • Assisting with commercial completion of the contracts, including maintaining contemporary records for use in supporting claims, extensions of time and evaluation of variations
  • Managing the appointment and ongoing management of subcontractors, including payment applications and final accounts
  • Ensuring prompt submission of invoices and/or applications of payment to clients.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Civil Engineering industry
  • Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contract (ideally Options A, B and E)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
