What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Support Worker may include assisting service users with personal care, safe lifting and moving, administering medication, meal preparation, and providing general companionship. You’ll work closely with care plans to ensure individuals maintain independence and dignity, providing the physical and emotional support that they might need to achieve their goals.

  • You must be over 18 years old and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Flexibility in your availability, with the ability to travel to different care settings.
  • A good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • A clear enhanced DBS, which you can apply for upon registration.
  • A FULL UK Driving License

In this vital role, you'll:

  • Conduct residential parental assessments in line with court/local authority timescales

  • Deliver structured feedback and developmental activities that empower parents to achieve safe and positive change
  • Complete viability assessments , contribute to service improvement, and uphold compliance with Ofsted , CQC , and statutory requirements

Person Specification
We're looking for a candidate with:

  • Social Work Qualification and 2+ years' experience in statutory settings
  • Robust knowledge of child protection legislation , family law , and safeguarding protocols
  • Experience working with children and families in residential services
  • Commitment to equality, diversity , and non-discriminatory care practices
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills

Desirable Skills

  • Training in PAMS , CUBAS , or similar parenting assessment frameworks

Job Title: Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN)
Job Type: Full Time, Locum Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) for an on-going agency project focused on military / veterans mental health. The successful candidate will provide an outpatient, occupationally focused community mental health service within their designated Area of Responsibility, supporting military personnel with complex mental health needs.

Working as part of a dynamic Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), the postholder will manage a complex caseload, conduct comprehensive assessments, provide clinical supervision, and contribute to the development of high-quality mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • p>Deliver high-quality, outpatient-focused mental health care, including therapeutic interventions aligned with NICE guidance.

  • Lead in the organisation and delivery of high-intensity interventions, training, and health promotion within the community mental health setting.

  • Independently manage a complex caseload of military personnel, ensuring individualised, flexible care packages.

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and follow-up reviews.

  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical and electronic records in accordance with professional standards.

  • Provide written reports and maintain effective liaison with Medical Officers General Practitioners and other healthcare professionals.

  • Deliver clinical supervision and caseload management support to junior clinicians.

  • Provide supervision and oversight of secondary and tertiary clinical interventions.

  • Actively contribute to departmental meetings, clinical governance activities, and service improvement initiatives.

  • Recognise and work within own scope of professional competence, seeking supervision or support where needed.

  • Support Health Governance (HG) processes and lead on specific domains as directed.

  • Ensure all interventions are evidence-based and compliant with NICE guidelines.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Registration:

    • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse

    • HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist or Psychologist; SWE Registered Social Worker; UKCP or BACP Registered Psychotherapist

  • Postgraduate Training & Accreditation:
    In a NICE-approved therapeutic modality (e.g. CBT, DIT, IPT, Counselling for Depression).

  • Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years in a mental health role delivering therapy

    • Demonstrated background in adult community mental health settings

    • Experience with service development or line management responsibilities

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership and clinical supervision capabilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • High level of organisational and case management skills

  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continual professional development

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Understanding of the mental health needs of military personnel

Desirable

  • Experience working within Military Mental Health, Veterans Mental Health or similar occupational mental health services

  • Familiarity with MOD policies and procedures related to mental health service delivery
