BD Manager role in a global law firm, aligned to their biggest sector group, Financial Institutions. London based with 2 days WFH a week.
This global law firm is looking for Business Development Manager aligned to the financial institutions sector group. The role has come about due to a recent promotion. The existing Manager is stepping up into a global Senior Manager role, and they are looking for a new manager to lead on the EMEA piece. The role will be supported by two BD Executives, allowing this role to be more hands on with the strategic elements.
The firm offers a good culture and the bids team has strong engagement from the fee earning community, allowing this role to not get tied down with bid management. The BD team is also under new leadership and continued growth is very much part of the future plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Keeping up to date with market knowledge for the FI Group and making commercial suggestions;
- Working with the Industry Group leaders on driving BD plans and activities;
- Developing tailored content for the group including pitch content and marketing materials;
- Managing conference sponsorships and strategic events;
- Identifying and leveraging cross selling opportunities for the FI group;
- Providing management and guidance to the junior team members;
- Supporting on wider firm-wide BD initiatives.
Ideally you will be a legal BD professional with exposure to the FS sector. The firm are open to speaking to Senior Executives stepping up or Managers looking for a new challenge. But line management experience would be desirable for this role, to ensure a strong continuation of working culture for the existing team.

**About You**

+ 7-10 years professional experience in consulting, corporate development, or within a financial institution (e.g. private equity, venture capital) with a focus on M&A / commercial due diligence within the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare sector
+ Minimum of 4-5 years project management experience focused on engagements related to transactions / external investments (due diligence, valuation, asset identification, growth strategy, forecasting), including capabilities to manage large and/or multiple projects while balancing priorities while maintaining high quality delivery
+ Evidence of career progression in consulting and/or transaction advisory roles
+ Experience working in sizable/ multi-disciplined teams and leading staff

- Support the business by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documentation
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to manage legal risks and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks
- Interpret and communicate complex legal and regulatory issues clearly to business teams
- Stay updated on evolving legislation, ensuring the company’s legal practices remain compliant and ahead of risk
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with at least 4 years PQE, ideally with experience in mortgage/consumer lending and financial services regulation
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with a strong commercial mindset
- Proven ability to manage a diverse workload independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or challenging in-house legal environment

We are internationally renowned as a researcher and headhunting specialist within the Financial Markets space and our experts have successfully completed mandates at all levels of seniority, including at board level.
We are now seeking a bright individual with a strong work ethic, a research mindset, and excellent communication skills to join our small growing team. In this role, you will focus on UK and European hiring needs, working with leading international banks and investors. You must have a strong work ethic, and in return you would expect on target earnings after 18 months to be above £100k.
The role:
• You will be focused on researching, identifying, and attracting international specialists for open roles in Europe. The right candidate will be creative in their approach to business development, and should be excited to build a network outside of our existing contacts.
• The role will be mainly office based in Richmond (South West London), with a significant period of time spent networking and researching existing databases for individuals with experience matching current requirements.
• You will be required to speak with contacts at all levels throughout the day, mainly over the phone but also where possible and relevant, in person. Typically, these contacts will very bright and have a Master’s degree or a PhD and be at mid or senior level.
• One you have gained an understanding of the technical aspects of this sector, you will have the opportunity to develop the business area and gain new clients for your business area. We offer a structured promotion plan and are looking for people to grow with the business. In depth on the desk training will be provided.
