What you’ll do
- Delivering ISO 26262:2018 work products specified within the Functional Safety Plan for a subset of vehicle Items, in accordance with the Forseven processes.
- Lead the creation of HARAs, Safety Concepts, Safety Requirements, IV&V Test Specifications and other relevant documents/analyses.
- Co-ordinate multi-party activities to ensure synchronised delivery and testing. Implement mitigation strategies when things go off-plan. Build a network of experts to help solve complex issues.
- Collaborate internally and externally to ensure system designs meet all relevant safety and regulatory requirements, which are formally verified to meet these and other specifications (performance, cost).
- Initiating sub-system design reviews as necessary to resolve functional safety concerns.
- Initiating and conduct meetings with suppliers and Technical Partners as required, ensuring they are delivering in accordance with their Development Interface Agreement (DIA).
- Perform system review, vehicle integration, verification & validation activities including Safety Goal Validation and other tests throughout the development lifecycle.
Who you are
- Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic or Automotive Engineering related degree, or equivalent experience.
- Experience creating ISO 26262:2018 Parts 3 and 4 work products.
- Good understanding of Integration, Verification and Validation related to Functional Safety.
- Experience performing SFMEA, DFMEA and/or FTA.
- Articulate, self-motivated, inspiring individual who is highly approachable and keen to learn.

**Qualifications/Requirements**
+ Minimum of a degree or equivalent qualification, or higher, for example Masters or PhD, in a relevant engineering discipline.
+ Certified Functional Safety Engineer with demonstrable Functional Safety knowledge.
+ Previous experience of delivering Functional Safety documentation.
+ Experience of functional safety analysis techniques, including, but not limited to, conducting FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA activities.
+ Experience of working with functional safety standards.
+ Experience with safety planning tools.
+ Is a sole UK National and holds, or be eligible to obtain, UK security clearance to SC level.
**Desired characteristics**
+ Experience within the UK Defence sector, in particular with the UK Royal Navy.
+ Knowledge of military and/or defence standards.
+ Chartered (or working to) or equivalent with a recognised institution, with a proven record of continuous professional development.
+ Knowledge of classification rules, e.g. DNV, ABS, Lloyds for marine.
