Delegated Authority Product Governance Specialist is required to join an insurance company which is a subsidiary of a global insurance and reinsurance business.
As the Product Governance Specialist you will be;
- Responsible for monitoring and reviewing insurance products to ensure that they meet regulatory obligations and approve these products ensuring good customer outcomes
- Working as part of a small team and working with existing teams in development and reviewing of products
- Assist in development of new products and monitor products to ensure they adhere to regulatory frameworks
- Ensure that new products and changes to existing products follow the POG framework
- Working as a team on product reviews and report findings on product reviews which will include reports, metrics and MI to present to the Board and Senior Management as required
- Managing the agent financial promotions referral process for UK Agents
As the Product Governance Specialist, you will have;
- Previous product review experience and/or underwriting or audit experience within an insurance setting
- Insurance Qualification and/or degree
- Understanding of the POG framework and regulatory requirements

- Underwrite a portfolio of complex risks within assigned specialisms, adhering to company guidelines and profitability targets.
- Analyse financial statements, loss histories, and other relevant data to assess risk exposure.
- Develop and negotiate appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing for insurance policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Participate in industry events and seminars to represent the company and expand professional networks.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; ACII or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in underwriting, with a strong focus on specialist insurance lines.
- Proven track record of profitable underwriting results and portfolio management.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and data analysis tools.

- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional designations such as ACII, CPCU, or CRISC are a strong asset.
