The role of a Building Services Engineer involves designing, developing, and maintaining the essential systems and services that ensure the functionality, safety, and comfort of buildings. This includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical systems, and public health services. Our sector-specific knowledge allows us to work on buildings in all sectors, ranging from complex office environments ( and retail centres ( , to museums ( and educational establishments ( , and from residential developments ( to laboratories and data centres ( . We have extensive experience in buildings services engineering for healthcare facilities, and we have designed some of the most complex healthcare systems. Our teams also provide services for major transportation hubs such as train and subway stations ( and airports ( , as well as for industrial facilities. Day-to-day activities could include:
+ Collaborating with External stakeholders.
+ Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

To do this, WSP's Building Technology Systems team offers a complete and comprehensive technology consulting service, collaborating with owners, designers and contractors to deliver award-winning projects in the UK and globally.
Day-to-day activities could include:
+ Collaborating across WSP with specialists in areas like MEP, Security, Lighting, ICT, AV to develop holistic and comprehensive Smart Buildings solutions. 
+ Gathering requirements from stakeholders, understanding client problems and opportunities, and what the desired outcomes should be. 
+ Designing and specifying implementation of these technologies, documenting formal requirements for approval and development. 
+ Working closely with project stakeholders to develop recommendations and work appropriate to the client's business needs. 
+ Presenting work outputs and thoughts to clients both as part of project delivery and also as client internal change management. 
**Building Services Energy & Sustainability**
Our Energy & Sustainability Engineers work at the forefront of sustainable building design. We are experts at assessing the energy use and carbon emissions of buildings and advising clients and project teams on how best to reduce them. The team has a diverse range of specialists in building energy modelling, Whole Life Carbon assessment and sustainability certifications. Our services are increasingly focused on helping understand optimal solutions in a holistic way, balancing embodied carbon, operational energy use and the health and wellbeing of building users.
Day-to-day activities could include:
+ Developing building simulation models to assess the performance of a project in terms of its operational Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and the thermal comfort of occupants.
+ Assessing how environmental design strategies and technologies can reduce building energy consumption and coordinating with the wider design team on their implementation.
+ Calculating the Whole Life Carbon (WLC) impacts of buildings and identifying opportunities for reduction.
+ Identifying approaches to incorporate Circular Economy principles in building design.
+ Reviewing the applicable planning and regulatory requirements for building energy use and carbon emissions and other sustainability criteria.
+ Assessing the risks of climate change to building performance.

**Job Title:** Infrastructure Services Specialist
**Location:** Cambridge / London
**Employment Type:** Full-time (Hybrid)
**The Job**
As an Infrastructure Services Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of infrastructure and operations services.
With a strong technical foundation across infrastructure technologies and an understanding of governance and service management frameworks, you will act as a vital link between technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT Infrastructure services.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Work with Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) teams to develop and maintain the I&O roadmap.
+ Assist with the planning and resourcing of I&O projects and engagements across the I&O teams.
+ Engage with IT Customer Engagement, Internal Customers and the PMO to understand business demands, converting them to technical requirements and consult the I&O teams appropriately.
+ Manage the change requests and service requests from the IT Customer Engagement teams and ensure that they are processed and implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Communicate with the IT Customer Engagement team regularly and proactively to understand their requirements, expectations, and feedback.
+ Assist with the budgeting process and operational tracking across the I&O teams.
+ Chair the Technical Steering Committee (TSC), operating a technical, pre-Change Advisory Board (CAB) review meeting.
+ Coordinate the development of I&O service documentation and records, for example, strategies, service catalogues, service level agreements, service reports, and service logs.
+ Coordinate governance activities across the I&O teams working with IT GRC, for example, internal/external audits and risk management.
+ Assist in the development, monitoring and maintenance of service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for I&O services; report on the service performance to the I&O team and IT Office.
+ Assist with the identification and coordination for resolving service issues or incidents, escalating to the Infrastructure Leadership team as needed.
**Essential Requirements**
+ Higher education in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
+ At least 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure service engagement, delivery, management, engineering or solution design.
+ Strong knowledge, experience in IT infrastructure technologies - network, servers, storage, backup, security, and cloud services.
+ Experience with infrastructure operations, monitoring, and performance management tools
+ Understanding of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) principles within IT operations.
+ Proficiency in KPI and metrics reporting for service performance.
+ Familiarity with resource and capacity planning in IT Infrastructure environments
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve service issues and incidents.
+ Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
+ Familiarity with service management and project management frameworks such as ITIL, Prince2, PMP.
+ Higher education in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

**The job**
This People Services Advisor role is a pivotal part of the EMEA People Services Team, focused on delivering operational excellence, a strong employee experience, and accurate HR advice across AVEVA's UK and Ireland region. Acting as the People Team representative for the UK, the individual will ensure local compliance, support employee lifecycle activities, and collaborate with HR Business Partners and business leaders to drive impactful people initiatives.
**Key responsibilities**
+ Act as trusted point of contact, independently managing HR queries and offering sound advice and guidance on HR processes, policies, and procedures.
+ Create, review and issue change documentation, formal letters and contracts in line with internal standards and legal requirements.
+ Partner with relevant teams, including Payroll and Global Mobility colleagues to ensure accurate and compliant processing of employee changes.
+ Triage employee relation activities in the region, providing policy guidance and escalating appropriately.
+ Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and internal stakeholders to deliver HR support, acting as a trusted advisor.
+ Interpret and apply HR policies and local employment legalisation across the UK & Ireland region.
+ Identify and support with process improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and employee experience.
+ Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge to build capability and consistency.
+ Participate in cross-functional HR projects and initiatives aligned with business goals and strategic priorities.
+ Generate and present reports on People Services activity within the Region, providing insights and trends to relevant stakeholders.
+ Manage first line employee relations activities, including notetaking, policy interpretation, and supporting with workplace investigations and performance management.
+ Maintain and audit regional employee files, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with local legal requirements.
+ Support onboarding and offboarding processes ensuring documentation and system updates are completed accurately and on time.
+ Assist in preparing documentation for internal audits for the UK.
+ Deliver training or briefings to managers and employees on HR topics relevant to the region, such as informal resolution pathways or documentation standards.
**Essential requirements**
+ Fluent in English and **German** , with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultural and business contexts.
+ Proven experience delivering **HR support and operational excellence** in the UK.
+ Solid understanding of **UK employment law** and compliance.
+ Skilled in managing the **employee lifecycle** , from onboarding to offboarding.
+ Confident to act as **first point of contact** for People Team matters in the UK & Ireland.
+ Collaborative partner to **HRBPs and business leaders** , supporting to drive successful people initiatives.
+ Proficient in **HRIS systems** and experienced working with HR data and reports.
+ Highly **customer-focused** , organised, and solutions-oriented with the ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure.
+ Experienced in applying **HR policies** and best practices to achieve successful outcomes.
+ Strong **stakeholder management** and relationship-building skills, including delivering effective communication and solutions to all levels of the business.
+ Advanced proficiency in **Microsoft Office** (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
+ CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience.
**Desired skills**
+ Knowledge of a Central Europe language is a plus.
+ Knowledge of HRIS Technology (Workday/ServiceNow)
+ Experience in providing HR Operations support and/ or advice across EMEA countries, including Europe and Middle East.
