28 hours per week, 38 weeks a year (Term Time Only)
The role of Learning Coach is a rewarding one, as you will support and mentor learners with social, emotional, and mental health needs, a disability, learning difficulty or medical condition, and/or with ESOL, English and Maths support needs to enable them to successfully complete their qualifications, course and where appropriate, education, health and care plan (EHCP) outcomes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to begin a career in education, especially for those who are recent graduates and looking to become a Teacher.
Experience is not essential – all that we ask is that you can demonstrate the ability to use initiative, organise and prioritise, and can communicate well at all levels. We would like you to have good administration and computer skills, to allow you to keep high quality written records of learner progress and set appropriate smart targets based on EHCP outcomes, agreed support plans and coursework.
We’d also like you to be willing to achieve a GCSE/Level 2 or equivalent with grades A*-C in English and Mathematics (should you not already hold this).
Hours will be discussed at interview stage.

Day to day responsibilities as a Learning Mentor
- Mentoring and guiding the students in their behavioural development
- Assisting students with SEN to set and achieve personal and educational targets
- Engage and assist with various learning activities and programs
- Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours
- Be a positive role model, helping students build confidence and self-esteem
