**Role Overview**
The Legal Claims Consultant will handle guest and crew personal injury claims, and breach of contract claims, made against the company for all Carnival UK's cruise brands (P&O Cruises, Cunard, Princess, Seabourn and Holland America Line). You will be responsible for your own case load of approx. 100 cases, from beginning (receiving and investigating a claim) to end (determining and implementing an appropriate strategy for settling or defending the claim, monitoring and reviewing financial reserves on a regular basis). Case types may include mediation, arbitration and County Court claims.
Acting as a part of the Carnival UK Legal Department, you will also assist generally in the provision of legal advice to all parts of the Carnival UK business as required. Adding value via your proactive thinking, engagement with the business, and trend or liability identification - in order to reduce exposure for the future, improve the way we provide our holidays and to save costs.
This pivotal role will involve:
+ Corresponding and dealing on the phone with guests and crew members directly and / or their legal representatives in relation to claims.
+ Logging, monitoring, and updating claims and financial reserves as required, on Company's case management system.
+ Carrying out detailed valuations of general and special damages where applicable (including complex loss of earnings claims, care and assistance and loss of enjoyment), with the aid of JCG guidelines and case law review.
+ Undertaking thorough investigations into all claims by liaising with the appropriate departments shoreside and interviewing /taking statements from relevant personnel on board the ships, as well as visiting accident location sites on board where necessary. Working closely with the ships to assist with on board resolution of claims.
+ Making considered judgements as to reaching settlement or defending claims as appropriate on legal and commercial grounds.
This role is positioned at CUK09 level within our organization and is available on a full-time permanent basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.

+ Legal qualification to degree level or proven litigation experience in the handling and settlement of personal injury and contractual claims
+ A broad-based experience of claims handling, including complex personal injury and breach of contract claims
+ Good knowledge of the CPR and experience of small claims, fast track and multi-track court processes and procedures and of dealing with complex or group actions
+ Familiarity with Judicial College Guidelines on personal injury quantum and experience of valuing personal injury claim.

Office Angels are currently recruiting for a Legal Support Administrator on behalf of our prestigious client based in Manchester City Centre. This will initially be a temporary contract which could lead to a permanent opportunity. This will be a hybrid role where you will be expected to attend the office a minimum of 1 day per week, although you will need to attend the office more while training. Duties will include:
