Your new role
As a Legal Assistant on a fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, you will provide essential support to the Legal & Governance Team. Your focus will be assisting with the management and delivery of legal advice connected to the organisation's significant capital projects. You will play a key role in coordinating schedules, managing documentation, tracking legal spend, and maintaining compliance with records management policies. Additionally, you will liaise with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers to ensure smooth communication and timely responses to legal enquiries.
What you'll need to succeed

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in administering projects or supporting legal functions, ideally within a legal or governance environment.
  • At least an HND/HNC qualification or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Experience with records management or document scheduling is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
  • A good understanding of information governance and compliance frameworks is highly desirable.
