Role overview:

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:  
●    Driving your company van and managing your own day effectively (as you’ll work mainly on your own).
●    Testing, diagnosing and fixing white goods in our customers’ homes.
●    Providing and implementing technical knowledge across a range of white goods appliances.
●    Building up our reputation as a home services expert.

A lot of the job comes down to skill and efficiency, but building a rapport with customers is just as important. They will welcome you into their homes, and it’ll be down to you to get their products back on track and put their minds at ease. 

You will need:
●    Proven experience in White Goods repairs.
●    Full UK/EU driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
●    Ideally (but not essential) ACS Qualifications (or equivalent) in Essential Gas Safety Domestic (CCN1), Gas Cookers and Ranges (CKR1).

  • Complying with the health and safety policy and regulations. 
  • Resolving breakdowns, carryout PM’s and work on project / improvement works with a view to minimizing production downtime.
  • Carrying out risk assessments with the relevant people and put controls in place to minimise the risk to acceptable levels where reasonably practicable.
  • Lock off any dangerous machinery immediately/ or repair and notify.
  • Actively seek to undertake PMs on offline machinery where time allows.
  • Fully complete PM sheets with all observations, jobs completed and recommendations and file with the Maintenance Planner, whilst always looking at ways of improving to PMs.
  • Actively gain as much information as possible from production personnel regarding the fault on the machine to speed up the fault-finding process.

  • Ensure all communications with external persons are conducted in a professional manner which reflects the company profile.

Qualifications, skills and experience


To be successful in this role we are looking for the right behaviours and competencies as well as a proven track in a similar position.  The ideal candidate will ideally have the following:
 

  • HNC, City & Guilds or time served apprentice with appropriate electrical engineering qualifications.
  • Experience within a similar role ideally gained within a food manufacturing environment, if not food, experience within any manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Electrically or biased, or multi-skilled.  PLC experience highly desirable.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems experience highly desirable

Our client, a materials and aggregates provider is seeking 2 x Maintenance Technicians for their site in Barnstone, Nottingham, able to offer between 4 and 6-months work for the right candidates.

This role is working at a cement packing plant that operates 24/7 and the role will involves electrical and mechanical maintenance of production equipment and machinery across multiple packing areas. Due to the 24/7 operation, candidates will be required to work on rotating shift basis, covering day / afternoon / night and weekend shifts on a rotation basis. (Please note: This average to 37 hours per week)

Candidates will join a small maintenance team and be responsible for routine planned maintenance, fault finding, and ad hoc repairs to ensure continuous production. Initial training includes shadowing experienced technicians across different shifts and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) training provided on site.

The ideal candidate will be Level 3 Electrically Qualified, with 18th Edition being advantageous to hold. The role will include both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, so applicable candidate will have working in similar environments, completed M&E maintenance to production equipment and machinery.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
  • Fault finding and repair of electrical systems including LV switchgear, control gear, and variable speed drives etc.
  • Use of CMMS (e.g., SAP PM) for maintenance planning and reporting.
  • Safe isolation and adherence to health and safety procedures relevant to the cement manufacturing environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with installation and commissioning activities.
  • Work collaboratively within a small, multi-disciplined maintenance team.

On a Rotating Rota Shift Patterns will include a mix of:

  • Day Shift (Weekdays) 06:00 - 14:00
  • Afternoon Shift (Weekdays) 14:00 - 22:00
  • Night Shift (Weekdays) 22:00 - 06:00
  • Night Shift (Weekdays) 20:00 - 06:00
  • Day Shift (Weekends) 06:00 - 18:00
  • Night Shift (Weekends) 18:00 - 06:00

Candidate will ideally:

  • Have worked in a similar environment previously, maintaining machinery and equipment (M&E)
  • Level 3 Electrical Qualification (essential)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable)

We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Temporary Fabric Engineer to join our student accommodation team in West London. If you take pride in maintaining properties to the highest standard and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you!

Your Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out reactive maintenance in occupied rooms with a focus on quality workmanship and customer service
  • Repairing & maintaining building fabric, including redecoration and general upkeep
  • Fixing toilets, sinks, furniture, locks, descaling showers, and replacing lightbulbs
  • Reporting any property or ground issues swiftly and professionally
  • Maintaining clean and tidy communal areas, bin stores, and refuse spaces
  • Conducting regular PPM checks
  • Taking a proactive approach to ensure high standards are met

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous Fabric Engineer / Maintenance / Caretaker / Multi-trader / Handyman experience
  • Ability to carry out general repairs and building fabric works to a high standard
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable, hardworking, and adaptable to different tasks
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety measures
  • Comfortable with physically demanding work

My Stock Market listed PLC client are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer for their maintenance team located in Ilkeston.

Day to Day Duties will include:

  • Maintenance of DC motors and associated drives
  • Maintenance and repair of Electrical Control Systems
  • Electrical installations and/or mechanical installation work
  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance tasks (Mechanical and Electrical)
  • Breakdown maintenance involving fault finding on industrial and process control systems
  • Resolve Electrical and Mechanical repairs on PVCu Extrusion Plant Equipment
  • Liaising and supporting external contractors and suppliers when on site

We are focused on speaking to candidates with the following attributes:

  • Recognised Electrical / Mechanical maintenance apprenticeship / training scheme Level 3
  • Significant Electrical and Mechanical experience gained in a manufacturing environment (installation and maintenance)
  • Understand and interpret Electrical and Mechanical Schematic circuit drawings
  • Driving licence as may be required to assist on other sites
