The R&M Technician is a hands-on technical role responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of oil and gas field tools at Weatherford's Aberdeen facility. **Responsibilities:**
Technical Duties
+ Perform complete maintenance cycle: receiving, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing field tools using technical manuals and procedures.
+ Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments to determine dimensional requirements.
+ Repair machines, equipment, and structures using specialized tools and testing devices.
+ Complete all required documentation, work orders, and quality checks throughout the maintenance process.
+ Operate lifting equipment, forklifts, and other machinery for safe movement of equipment.
+ Process incoming and outgoing shipments with proper documentation.
Safety & Compliance
+ Maintain highest standards of HSE compliance and follow Weatherford's Rules to Live By.

**Requirements:**
+ 5-8+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred.

About the role


We are currently recruiting for a multi-skilled or electrically biased  Maintenance Technicians  to the join the Engineering Team at our Portbury production facility in Bristol.  The facility is a dried blending and mixing production facility where we create flavour blends for some of the world's best loved brands, 100's of tonnes of product are precisely measured, mixed and packaged every week.

This is a permanent position, with a 3 or 4 shift pattern – AM/PM/Nights/Days


Key Responsibilities


As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for
 

  • Complying with the health and safety policy and regulations. 
  • Resolving breakdowns, carryout PM’s and work on project / improvement works with a view to minimizing production downtime.
  • Carrying out risk assessments with the relevant people and put controls in place to minimise the risk to acceptable levels where reasonably practicable.
  • Lock off any dangerous machinery immediately/ or repair and notify.
  • Actively seek to undertake PMs on offline machinery where time allows.
  • Fully complete PM sheets with all observations, jobs completed and recommendations and file with the Maintenance Planner, whilst always looking at ways of improving to PMs.
  • Actively gain as much information as possible from production personnel regarding the fault on the machine to speed up the fault-finding process.
  • Ensure engineering log and computer systems are fully filled in with all relevant information including PM numbers, all used parts, plant numbers, urgency of required parts, at the end of each shift. 
  • Ensure all communications with external persons are conducted in a professional manner which reflects the company profile.

Qualifications, skills and experience


To be successful in this role we are looking for the right behaviours and competencies as well as a proven track in a similar position.  The ideal candidate will ideally have the following
 

  • HNC, City & Guilds or time served apprentice with appropriate electrical engineering qualifications.
  • Experience within a similar role ideally gained within a food manufacturing environment, if not food, experience within any manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Electrically or biased, or multi-skilled.  PLC experience highly desirable.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems experience highly desirable
  • Flexible approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Experience of SAP highly desirable.

  • Possess a good mechanical knowledge of pumps, motors, conveyor systems including pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical.

Summary
As part of a dedicated team, the O&M technician will work on a day shift basis and be responsible for safely and successfully operating and monitoring the electrical, mechanical, instrument and process equipment at a brand-new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located within the site of an internationally recognised customer

The O&M technician will be expected to monitor and control the plant and implement any necessary operational changes. The Operator would also prepare plant for Planned Maintenance tasks as required. The Water Treatment Plant Operator will also be expected to maintain analytical data into a computer-based system to record plant performance.

In addition, the O&M technician is expected to be able to carry out first line preventative maintenance activities on the equipment with the support of a Computerised Maintenance Management System. This can include tasks such as cleaning of process instruments on a regular basis, changing over duty pumps and equipment as necessary and ensuring the process assets are in as good condition as possible.

All necessary training will be provided. Most work will be dayshift Monday – Friday but it is expected that the operator will work outside these hours if required. As part of this role, the applicant will also provide on call plant cover responding to any alarms and attending site, if necessary, out of hours

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work within the client and Company Quality, Health & Safety & Environment (QHSE) systems
  • Visible ownership on HSE issues at all levels both in the client organisation and internally.

The primary responsibility of this on-site role is to manage reactive repair and maintenance tasks and oversee building and plant maintenance works within the HPC project agreement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to BMS generated alarms and faults
  • Execute planned Workspace Re-engineering tasks as assigned by the HPC Helpdesk team.
  • Generate work requests via the CAFM system to maintain comprehensive traceability of all completed works.
  • Support the maintenance of CAD layout drawings.
  • Act as an Accompanying Safety Person
  • Conduct daily plant monitoring duties and meticulously record details
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractors to ensure business needs are met
  • Perform maintenance inspections and repairs on various assets, including building fabric and estate elements (e.g., furniture, internal/external fixtures, grounds, access, and parking)
  • Fulfill Health and Safety responsibilities in accordance with G4S Corporate Part B

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in maintenance
  • Solid understanding of relevant Health & Safety procedures.
  • Proficient in IT
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and adaptable

Desirable

  • Qualified to NVQ level 4 or equivalent in a Technical discipline.
  • Working knowledge of PAT Testing.

Job Description

Maintenance E&I Technician £45k - £51k plus call outs overtime and 15 % yearly bonus and retention bonus 12 % pension holidays

Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 30 pm


Responsibilities


  • Identifying, scheduling, carrying out and the recording of routine maintenance checks.
  • Identifying, scheduling, carrying out and the recording of non-routine maintenance repairs.
  • Carrying out the routine servicing of various types of process control instrumentation equipment such as transmitters, controllers, analysers etc.
  • Assisting/carrying out vendor specified routine maintenance.
  • Maintaining of all site services in good working order and applicable to safe working practices.
  • Carrying out of general housekeeping to ensure facilities are maintained clean and tidy and free of preventable hazard



Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3 years maintenance experience on equipment related to the installed instrument and/or electrical equipment.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and hold a driving license
