Role Overview:


As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer you will perform all planned and unplanned mechanical engineering activities related to maintaining an efficient contract and supporting client sites.

  • Ensure all Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance is completed to schedule ensuring that appropriate documentation is completed and submitted in a timely fashion.
  • Perform rectification of defects, ensuring all safety and performance standards are met in accordance with the contract.
  • Carry out routine maintenance work associated with all mechanical systems.
  • Supervise specialist contractors and ensure all certification/ documentation is completed in accordance with client and EMCOR requirements.
  • Liaise with and respond to the Helpdesk ensuring that urgent maintenance tasks are responded to within appropriate timescales.
  • Ensure that good housekeeping and working practices are employed and ensure that you represent EMCOR in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ensure that your technical training and development is kept up-to-date.

We are looking for a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with Mechanical bias to join our Fells team in Lennoxtown, Glasgow.

As part of the Engineering team, this role will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery and equipment are maintained, repaired and serviced to a high standard to enable maximum efficiency. The role will involve working on a variety of equipment including high speed bottling lines and associated packing machinery.

What you can expect:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance schedules on plant equipment
  • Attend to breakdowns and diagnose faults, repairing machinery and equipment to a high standard
  • Identify recurring defects and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure all engineering documentation such as plans, manuals, permits and risk assessments are maintained and up to date

What we are looking for:

  • Recognised engineering qualification or equivalent experience

This role will work a continuous day shift pattern, working 7 shifts over 14 days 07:45- 20:00 .

I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to service production needs in regards to regular maintenance, engineering issues and machinery breakdowns. All maintenance activities are in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards as relevant.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To carry out routine servicing and inspection on all production machinery and mechanical systems and equipment.
* Use the preventative maintenance system to reduce breakdowns and unplanned maintenance.
* Carry out essential legislative testing of mechanical equipment and systems.
* To work safely within the company's Health and Safety Procedures.
* To identify and keep essential stock items at necessary working levels.
* To assist the Engineering Manager in identifying process improvements through elimination of downtime and other continuous improvement initiatives (CIP Process).
* To assist the Engineering Manager with projects and developments.
* Liaise when necessary with external contractors.


Essential Skills
* ONC, HNC or City and guilds qualified.
* Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
* Mig and MMA welding experience is essential. Tig would be beneficial.
* Heavy / Medium engineering background.
* Lifting and slinging experience
* Computer literate. Can use Microsoft office. Use of PPM system such as Pirana or similar.
* Driving licence.

Preferred but not essential

* Turning experience.
* IPAF qualification. The job involves working at heights.
* Some basic electrical experience.
* FLT licence
* Atex Experience
* Gas burners / Gas safe registered

Hours of work 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3pm on Fridays. Flexibility is required to work on Saturdays (paid overtime).
