We require a Maintenance/Manufacturing Planner to join us to play a key part in the team responsible for delivering elements of capability and development, including product development and testing, mission support systems and training devices. The roles are fundamental in translating customer needs/requirements into appropriate solutions and will require the successful candidate to work in multidisciplinary teams to both generate proposals and develop deliverable solutions.
Our programmes are internationally run, with key partners being Boeing Defence, Space and Security, based in the USA, and Boeing Defence Australia. You will be part of our ongoing collaboration with these business units, and this provides opportunities for travel for short- or longer-term periods.

**Job Description**
The Maintenance Planner (Level 3) role provides ownership and accountability of the creation/ maintenance of electronic work packages for each Maintenance Input, Repair or Modification through the use of Gold ESP MRO tool in accordance with PT145 and BDUK/ Boeing policy and processes.
This role is to support BDUK's delivery of Maintenance and Modification support of the UK E7 Wedgetail Mk1 AEW&C Aircraft based at RAF Lossiemouth whilst it undergoes it's Flight Test Program. Note: Some travel to MOD Boscombe Down may be required to support this role.
**Key Tasks include:**
+ Authors technical work instructions to approved process & regulatory requirements, writing, editing & proof-reading text, collating & verifying technical /engineering information, creating and editing bespoke work instructions.
+ Interprets multiple source formats of approved engineering data from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Design Organisation, or Applicable Customer controlled Maintenance data sources in order to produce a standardised, easy to use & logical set of production/manufacturing plans with consideration of regulatory requirements for accurate maintenance recording.
+ Supports the creation, receipt and delivery of multiple complex electronic manufacturing plans/work packages.
+ Manages configuration control of plan sets including engineering baseline establishment lists, manufacturing work instructions (Master Plans), associated aircraft specific plans (A/C Work Orders) and Nonconformance Report (NCR) Work Orders (WOs).
**Preferred Skills and Experience:**
+ Experienced in scheduled maintenance, repair and modification of aircraft/component and suitably trained/authorised on the aircraft type or component type being worked.
+ Capable of creating detailed work instructions using technical writing ensuring all requirements and work recording measures are met.
+ Proven working knowledge of Engineering Resource Planning tools such as Gold ESP MRO
+ An excellent communicator, with a demonstrable ability to communicate and understand the technical work requirements of the team in order that key business targets are met.
+ Proven working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) processes, and the application of these requirements within their area of accountability, responsibility and authority
+ Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical Documents, Technical Drawings and/or associated Authorised Technical Publications (ATP's), to provide guidance and support to the teams working on the aircraft or in the production of Work orders
+ Capable of working and communicating within management levels, cross functional areas and the customer effectively
+ Capable and experienced in sequencing and controlling demanding workloads, on time, to budget and to the required standard
+ Proven knowledge of the air system scheduled maintenance to enable effective Review, acceptance and rejection of SoW, AWRs, deferred work etc at the pre-input phase.
**Work Authorisation:** This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Pay rate starting at 12.60- 15.75(dependent on shift pattern), rising to 17.48 per hour after 12 weeks and potentially up to 20.65 depending on skill set. Further increments are possible after one year and beyond.
Overtime also available at attractive premium rates - time and one half and double time based on hours worked

- Monday -Thursday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm and Friday 7:30 am - 12:30 pm
Rotating shift: 15.75 / 32,760
- Week 1: Monday to Thursday5:45 am-2:00 pm; Friday5:45 am-12:45 pm
- Week 2: Monday to Thursday, 1:45 pm-11:45 pm (no work on Friday!)
Annual leave - 28 days initially, rising to 32 days after the completion of 12 weeks.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or have DIY skills/experience in carpentry, plumbing, or general handywork. Those who haveexperience inassembly of any kind, but especially withinlarge-scale products, can use hand tools, read from work instructions, and follow processeswill suit this role well.
The ability to plan, organise, and meet deadlines effectively, and also be a team player with strong communication and collaboration skills, are all essential for this role.

The Manufacturing Technician will:
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis across a variety of control systems.
- Operate and maintain high-precision production equipment in cell assembly.
- Perform product validation testing using in-line and off-line equipment.
- Undertake TPM and preventative maintenance activities to ensure optimum performance.
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives for processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and maintain production targets.
The Manufacturing Technician will have:
- Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in electrical, mechanical, or general engineering (ONC/HNC/HND Level 3 desirable)
- Previous experience in maintenance or manufacturing within high-speed, quality-driven environments.
- Experience with robotics, automation, or precision manufacturing equipment.
- Strong teamwork skills with experience in collaborative problem-solving.
- Experience in lean manufacturing within quality-driven, customer-focused production environments.
- Practical, hands-on technical background, ideally with an electrical or mechanical specialism.
