Key Responsibilities:

- Specify tooling, fixtures, and CNC machine setups for prototype and production runs.
- Lead and participate in the qualification, implementation, and monitoring of special processes, ensuring full control plans and process documentation are developed and maintained.
- Support qualification testing and process validation activities with internal quality teams and external regulators.
- Collaborate with Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure process capability, supplier qualification, and continued compliance.
- Develop and maintain controlled work instructions, process documentation, and inspection plans aligned with aerospace standards.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by translating designs into manufacturable processes, including DFM/DFA analysis.
- Drive root cause analysis, FMEA, and corrective actions for process deviations and non-conformances.
- Apply Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to improve process capability and reduce variation.
- Work cross-functionally with design, production, and quality teams to resolve day-to-day manufacturing challenges.
- Demonstrate a strong safety and quality mindset in all operations.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing within aviation, aerospace, or a similarly regulated industry.
- Hands-on expertise with CNC machining, tooling, forming, and fabrication processes.
- Experience in qualifying and controlling special processes (welding, additive, composites, electronics).
- Experience working with regulatory authorities (AS9100, NADCAP, CAA/EASA/FAA).
- Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX) and familiarity with PLM (Teamcenter), MES, and ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace quality standards.
- Practical experience in tooling design, fixture development, and process documentation.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills across technical and management teams.

Pay Rate: £50,000 - £60,000
Contract: Full Time Permanent
Hours of Work: Monday – Thursday 8:00am–5:15pm, Friday 8:00am–4:15pm
Role Purpose
This is a hands-on leadership role taking full responsibility for managing and controlling all aspects of the manufacturing process, including the effective use of operators, materials, equipment, and documentation to deliver manufacturing plans and meet performance targets. This includes maintaining up-to-date records of all KPIs, including operator and machine efficiencies, and taking timely action to address any shortfalls in performance.
You’ll take ownership of the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our production machinery and factory infrastructure. As the driving force behind our Manufacturing and Engineering teams, you’ll provide both technical expertise and strategic vision, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while also positioning the business for long-term success.
Also responsible for upholding quality standards and ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements across all manufacturing areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fully understanding the daily manufacturing plans and be able to action those plans accordingly through the machine technicians and operators as required, including the efficient movement of WIP through the building. Ensure all manufacturing activity is accurately recorded in ERP system.
Identify any downtime or other issues that may affect achieving the departmental objectives and plans. Communicate daily with the manufacturing leads and report any deviations to plan to internal stakeholders.
Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in manufacturing, engineering and facilities management to enhance operational performance.
Ensure policies, procedures and training documents are suitable and up to date.
Motivate and support the team to achieve best performance and best manufacturing practices. Ensure team members are suitably trained. Mentor them in their development.
Provide good communication inside & outside the operational team on projects & activities.
Provide vision and leadership for engineering projects, driving innovation and continuous improvement
Ensure the effective maintenance and reliability of facility infrastructure, production machinery, and mechanical systems. Lead and support hands-on problem-solving in mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults quickly to minimise downtime.
Develop relationships and liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to address machine issues, ordering parts, and ensure effective communication with lead technicians throughout the process.
The role also includes responsibility for managing service contracts, managing effective supplier relationships, and ensuring the ongoing reliability and compliance of the facility infrastructure
Oversee and manage tool room operations, including personnel, projects, and activities that support manufacturing.
Identify any capital equipment and investment relating to manufacturing, engineering and facilities.
Work closely with the Product Design Manager on the Hygiene range re-engineering project, supporting product development, sampling, and innovation.
Work closely with the Management team on business strategy & development
Work with other departments to devise effective links with the Operational team

An opportunity has arisen to backfill the role of Quality Control Supervisor, currently overseeing the Materials Compounding department & the W&C Quality Control department. The role will supervise & motivate the QC team to ensure all agreed standards are met & continuously improved.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely delivery of objectives & KBMs, including goals & day-to-day people management. They will play a key role in driving a strong safety culture within the team, while ensuring full adherence to company policies & procedures.
**Your main tasks:**
+ Deliver on agreed quality KBM requirements.
+ Perform hands-on testing and support the workload around other duties on a day-to-day basis.
+ Complete monthly 1-2-1's, end of year appraisals and objective setting for their team, driving accountability, engagement and development.
+ Liaise with Manager, communicate any issues and respond to changing requirements efficiently and effectively. Enable effective communication between management and team.
+ Creation of a Skills Matrix, and ensuring comprehensive skillset across the team, highlighting gaps within the team and creating strategy to close them.
+ Actively encourage a "Team Culture"
+ Attend labour meetings, define requirements, and allocate appropriately.
+ Actively attend daily Tier 3 meetings for both value streams.
+ Lead daily and/or weekly Handover/Go meetings with team members and influence with positive steps for improvement.
+ Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 5S protocol & engage in weekly QC Gemba's taking accountability where ownership identified.
+ Management of holidays (T&A) and/or absence to ensure cover for business needs.
+ Ensure timely review and disposition of Blocked Stock (QC hold).
+ Review and rewrite Risk Assessments & SOP's where relevant/required.
+ Understand the sites EH&S objectives and targets and actively work to ensure departmental compliance.
+ Be an active participant and advocate of the TE Connectivity's Lean methodology (TEOA - Continuous Improvement)
+ Support QC specific external 3rd party Certification Body (CB) audits and internal audit program ensuring effective close out of any Non-Conformances and Opportunities for Improvement in both QC areas (site H & A)
+ Enable effective communication between management and team.
+ Support effective recruitment and onboarding processes in line with business requirements where applicable.
**Your ideal background:**
+ The ideal candidate will have held a position in Quality Control and possess 5 years + of experience in a manufacturing plant Quality Lab environment. This experience should be in a Quality or Engineering role within the aerospace, military, or automotive sectors, or in a similarly regulated & technically demanding industry.
+ Proficient in performing a wide range of laboratory & product testing procedures.
+ Strong understanding of test equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot & resolve issues effectively.
+ Technically minded with a practical, hands-on approach; able to interpret a wide range of technical drawings & specifications.
+ High attention to detail with excellent numeracy, verbal, & written communication skills.
+ Strong PC skills with an aptitude for learning new systems & laboratory equipment.
+ Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with internal & external stakeholders across diverse cultural environments.
+ Organised & highly self-motivated, capable of managing multiple tasks & adapting to changing production priorities to meet deadlines.

**Job Overview**
TE's Aerospace Defense & Marine Division is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Fiber Optics to deliver the engineering design, development, and implementation of next generation manufacturing technologies and processes. Manufacturing Development works closely with Product Development and Operations ONSITE to:
· Launch new product at world class quality and cost at pace of customer demand.
· Infuse strong DFM/DFA principles to ensure delivery of robust, efficient and cost-effective designs that are manufacturable at full scale.
· Deliver product designs that align with current manufacturing capabilities.
· Develop new manufacturing processes to support customer driven product innovation as needed.
The candidate must have prior experience with:
· Optical manufacturing principles such as single and multi-fiber termination
· Test methods of optical connectors
· Active optical assembly.
Additionally, this candidate should have basic knowledge of industry standards surrounding environmental and mechanical performance of optical connectors
**Your main tasks:**
New process and equipment compliance with TE safety and ergonomic policies
· DFM/A input into the early stages of product design
· PFMEA and implementation of high-risk mitigation plans
· Manufacturing capacity analysis
· Value stream mapping
· Assembly tooling and equipment development
· Process qualification via capability studies
· Support in the execution of sample builds and first article inspection
· Generation of process specifications
Develop and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation appropriately to support customer driven new product innovation.
Apply a lean manufacturing focus to drive world class cost on new product and fuel plant-level productivity initiatives on fiber optic manufacturing processes.
Support TE's global operations footprint as a subject matter expert for fiber optic manufacturing processes.
Liaise with manufacturing facilities to support preliminary cost estimates on new product concepts.
**Your ideal background:**
· A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Optical, or Manufacturing Engineering with 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, at least 2 of which is related to fiber optic product.
· Experience with machine, equipment and process design, development, and deployment into a production environment.
· Hands-on problem solver with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Knowledge and experience implementing Lean Six Sigma principles preferred. Green or Black Belt certification a plus.
· Must be able to effectively operate in remote teams with broad geographic footprints.
· Excellent time management skills and the ability to balance priorities while working under the pressure of demanding project schedules.
· Strong written and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization.
· Proficient with 3D CAD software as well as general Microsoft Office applications.

Role Purpose
Due to some internal movements, we are currently recruiting for a Testing and Quality Engineer to work from our manufacturing capacity at HQ.
The role will involve testing and quality inspection of the control panels we manufacture. a background in control panel wiring would be advantageous.
The Role
Working from our Midsomer Norton HQ, 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday.
- Ensure all off-site build kit is tested correctly before leaving the building.
- Ensure all off-site build kit is fully tested and complete ready for programmed deadlines.
- Ensure all off-site build kit is of sufficient quality, prior to delivery.
- To have early involvement with projects and sign-off at different intervals of the manufacturing process.
- Ensuring all OSB kit is tested correctly before leaving the building. This will include but is not limited to:
- All size panels (MCCs)
- Dosing skids
- Kiosks
- Mechanical arrangements
- Instrumentation
- Lighting
- Temporary structures
- OSB projects
- Follow up any outstanding snags making sure site teams have relevant kit/information to complete.
- Technical support for the business including the workshops.
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician.
- Experience in site installation.
- Experience in testing and inspection and site commissioning (Processes and equipment used).
- Extensive experience in setting up motor control equipment (VSDs, soft-starts, etc.).
- Network installation, testing, and reporting experience.
- Basic understanding of PLC software.
