About the role

The Technical Pre-Sales Consultant – Networking will play a pivotal role in enabling ARO to design and sell next-generation network solutions that support secure, scalable, and high-performance environments.

This role will focus primarily on HPE Aruba Networking technologies, while maintaining a strong foundation across all networking concepts and standards. Knowledge of Extreme Networks is considered advantageous, particularly where competitive differentiation is required.

The role will report directly into the Chief Enterprise Architect, and will provide pre-sales technical enablement for networking opportunities.

This is a customer facing role with travel to meetings across the UK.

Please note that this is a Hybrid role with the requirement to travel across the UK. You must be able to commute to the office and have your own transport.

What you’ll do
  •  Work with Account Managers and SDRs to scope and qualify opportunities.
  • Translate customer requirements into high-level and sometimes, low-level designs.
  • Engage with customers to perform requirements gathering and technical discovery.
  • Design networking solutions focused on network technologies (LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, NAC, ClearPass, and Central), while maintaining breadth across networking standards. (Aruba & Extreme)
  • Demonstrate awareness of Extreme Networks technologies as a competitive advantage
  • Develop proposals, BoMs, SoWs, and tender responses.
  • Deliver customer-facing presentations, workshops, and proof-of-concepts
  • Provide technical competitive differentiation against alternative vendors.
  • Collaborate with Delivery teams to ensure smooth project handover.
  • Maintain vendor and partner certifications to support ARO’s partner status.
  • Contribute to and author proposals, tenders, and bid responses in partnership with Sales.
  • Support the sales cycle with technical workshops, demos, and PoCs.
  • Ensure solutions are aligned to appropriate industry, validated references, and compliance standards.
  • Act as a bridge between Sales and Delivery to ensure solutions are deliverable and scalable.
  • Maintain advanced certifications in networking technologies, particularly Aruba.

Requirements

What we are looking for?

Essential:

  • Strong technical expertise in enterprise networking (LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, NAC).
  • Conversant with AOS10 and Aruba CX operating systems
  • Deep experience with HPE Aruba Networking portfolio of products, software and services.
  • Strong understanding of networking standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience of Macro – micro – hyper segmentation methodologies.
  • Pre-sales or solution design experience with enterprise customers.
  • Proven experience authoring proposals, tenders, and bid responses to support sales.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to design solutions with a balance of technical depth and commercial viability.
  • Two or more valid, Aruba Certified professional, Switching, Mobility, Security or Design certifications.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Extreme Networks technologies.
  • Experience with higher education or public sector networking projects.
  • Equivalent vendor certifications.
