**Job Description**
This workshop-based role is responsible for triage, troubleshooting, and repair of Raymarine & FLIR marine electronics for both leisure and commercial applications across the EMEA customer network. The position involves direct customer communication, collaboration with administration and technical support teams, and adherence to company and Global Trade Compliance processes.

+ To ensure repairs undertaken are repaired and tested within the department KPIs to the highest standard possible and administered in accordance with department & company procedures and policies.
+ To be able to undertake priority repairs as deemed necessary from the Technical Services Manager.
+ To undertake administration associated to service repairs & customer contact, using PC/web-based applications.
+ To promptly recognize & report product defects not previously recorded or specifically monitored by the Product Liaison Group & Engineering teams.
+ To ensure the role holder keeps up to date on current & new products, to provide an effective knowledge to assist with the repair and testing of products.
+ To maintain a clean, efficient, and safe workspace, reporting any safety/health hazards to the Technical Services Manager.

Overview
Birchwood Group is a forward-looking company with retail stores, workshops and facilities based across the south coast of Sussex and Hampshire.
Reporting to the General Manager, we are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our team at our Pronto workshop in Chichester.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Repair damaged vehicle bodywork, including dents and scratches
- Remove and replace damaged panels
- Ensure all repair work aligns with manufacturer and franchise guidelines
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Strip and refit where necessary, including panel alignment and adjustment
- Observe, recognise and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.
- Ensure that all vehicles comply with the safety standards when returned to customers
- Removal and safe storage/disposal of vehicle components, fluids and gases as directed by work order
- Report any defects or damage linked to associated job but not down for repair
- Take care of equipment, special tools, personal tools and report any faulty equipment to your line manager
- Filler repairs, finished correctly in P180 and ensure pinholes are checked
- Ensure underseal, weld through primers and anti-corrosion measures are complete before next stage
- Quality control of all repairs, with final stage sign off
- Collaborate with the body shop team to ensure efficient, high-quality service
- Preparing vehicles for paintwork (including masking)
- Attending to and repairing scratches, scuffs and dents
- Mixing paint to apply to vehicles
- Refurbishing painted alloy wheels
- Refurbishing and renovating used cars ready for resale
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a panel beater
- Expertise with panel beating tools and equipment
- Team player who uses their initiative, is flexible and has a can-do attitude
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Organised and takes responsibility for their own actions
Package:
- Salary: £32,000 (£38,000 OTE)
- Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 08:00 to 17:00, Saturday's 08.00 to 12.00 (1 in 2 on rota)
- Holiday: 22 days per year + bank holidays

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining equipment produced locally at our Chandlers Ford facility ranging from helicopter rotor blade trackers, to aircraft cables and signal condition units for engine debris monitoring. **Job Description**
**Key accountabilities and responsibilities:**
+ Advanced Assembly and Production: Manufacture complex electro-mechanical assemblies, cable harnesses, and PCBs, ensuring all work conforms to engineering drawings, BoM, and exacting quality specifications.
+ Quality Assurance: Test and inspect finished products to ensure they meet our rigorous quality standards and Bill of Materials (BoM).
+ Expert Diagnostics and Repair: Perform electronic component fault finding, diagnosis, and skilful PCB rework and repair to restore products to full functionality.
+ Goods Inspection: Assist with the inspection of incoming parts to ensure conformity before they are used in assembly.
+ Continuous Improvement: Proactively provide feedback and contribute ideas to support continuous improvement initiatives within the production process.
+ Team Collaboration: Communicate clear instructions to team members and confidently seek assistance or clarification when required.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members, escalating issues, and providing feedback to support a smooth workflow.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
Essential:
+ Technical Assembly Expertise: At least four years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly, including soldering, wiring, and crimping.
+ Soldering Proficiency: Proven experience and skill in hand soldering electronic components and wires.
+ Troubleshooting Acumen: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair faults in electronic components and PCBs.
+ Technical Comprehension: The ability to read and accurately interpret technical documents, such as schematics, wire diagrams, Bill of Materials (BoMs), and engineering drawings.
+ Component Recognition: A solid understanding and ability to identify common electronic components, including resistors.
+ ESD Awareness: A strong understanding and consistent practice of safe Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures.
+ Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills, including proficiency with standard office applications like Word, PDF, Outlook, and Teams, for documentation and communication.
+ Manual Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for intricate assembly work.
+ Formal Education: An Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent) demonstrates a strong theoretical foundation.
Desirable (Nice-to-have):
+ Industry Certifications: Holding an IPC610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and/or IPC620 (Acceptability of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) certification is highly desirable.
+ Conformal Coating: Previous experience applying conformal coating for added protection of electronics.
+ Quality Control Experience: Experience with inspection and quality control processes in a manufacturing environment.
+ Team Collaboration: Experience working in a team environment, with a history of effective communication and knowledge sharing.
