Job Purpose and Impact

Location: Hull (HU6 7PH)


The Mechanical Reliability Engineer will apply technical knowledge to deliver continuous improvement in process and asset reliability through the detection and elimination of defects. In this role, you will apply techniques such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). The role involves close collaboration with technical and operational teams to implement Cargill’s Reliability and Maintenance Excellence practices. Additionally, the engineer ensures all projects align with core reliability principles and oversees the execution of maintenance and asset replacement initiatives. A strong foundation in mechanical engineering is essential to provide robust support across the site.

Key Accountabilities

• Implement moderately complex reliability excellence activities and identify and prioritize reliability engineering value creation opportunities.
• Execute the development, design and installation of predictive and preventative maintenance programs and technology in alignment with the area procedures.
• Prepare technical reviews of moderately complex projects and collaborate with related areas on new equipment reliability specifications. Execute maintenance and reliability projects, including asset reliability improvements, defect elimination, and the replacement of various types of process equipment such as piping, pumps, heat exchangers and vessels by applying comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and best practices in maintenance and reliability.
• Perform the identification and elimination of bad actors and the optimization of equipment availability.
• Collaborate with and provide guidance to maintenance repairs and production in reliability related processes and the identification of critical spares.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering subject – in place of a degree (HNC/HND) and demonstrated relevant work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience from a heavy industrial processing background (e.g. Chemicals, Biofuels).
• Solid knowledge in the application of reliability tools.
• Knowledge in maintenance process management.
• Project management experience.
• Experience creating complex tests and analysis.
• Predictive maintenance technologies experience.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Bringing subject matter expertise and experience in running the model, system and business operational components of our Enterprise Customer Risk Assessment and List Management functions for the Bank
+ This role will also help to specify the requirement for, and oversee the modernisation and enhancement of our CRA/LM technology, , and incorporate automation in the FIU-Detection functions and processes that support those functions
+ This job is responsible for managing, supporting, and executing our regulatory remediation efforts related to CRA/LM across all the regions including BAU processes and execution, remediation tracking, action plan closure documentation, and automation design and development
+ The role will be partnering across the Bank and Enterprise with key stakeholders and executives within the First Line Units and Regional Teams.
**What we are looking for:**
+ The right level of acumen and authority to drive the customer risk strategy, enforce upstream change requirements with partners, and drive/execute the end-to-end changes including models and technology
+ Extensive Global Banking and Global Markets risk and compliance experience at a major global bank
+ AML/financial crime regulatory and compliance experience
+ CAMS, CFE, CRCM Certification a plus

The role:

This role forms a key part of the 1LOD Technology Risk Management function, supporting the Head of Technology Risk. The role holder will form a crucial component in the establishment of an enhanced risk management framework and beyond that identify and assess potential risks across Technology, as well as ensuring a comprehensive approach to risk mitigation.

The key focus of this contract is to Support the enhancement of Technology Resilience and the maturity of risk management practices

Responsibilities:

  • Process Documentation: Create and update process documentation across key technology processes to support governance, compliance, and operational consistency.
  • SSSDLC Integration: Support the integration of security controls and risk assessments throughout the Secure Software/System Development Lifecycle.
  • Controls Assurance: Review and challenge the design and operation of controls to ensure they mitigate risks effectively.
  • Risk Register Monitoring: Maintain and update a register of Technology-related risk events, incidents, audit findings, exceptions, etc. Work with responsible areas to assess these, develop action plans, identify owners and track through to completion.

Requirements:

  • Technology Knowledge: Work towards a detailed understanding of Technology and cyber risk frameworks (e.g. NIST / ISO27001 / COBIT / ITIL).
  • SSSDLC Expertise: Understanding of the Secure Software/System Development Lifecycle, including secure design, development, testing, and deployment practices.
  • Process Documentation: Experience in drafting, updating, and maintaining process documentation across key technology domains.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for accurately managing open audit points, helping to document audit actions, and accurately track and report on the status of management actions.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills are necessary to effectively coordinate audit schedules, manage documentation, and prioritise tasks across the IT Department.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills are essential for managing multiple audit engagements, meeting deadlines, and ensuring the smooth progression of audit activities.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication skills are vital for effectively liaising with internal and external stakeholders, conveying audit-related information, and facilitating collaboration across the IT Department.
  • Analytical Skills: Basic analytical skills are beneficial for analysing audit data, identifying trends, and generating insights to support audit reporting and decision-making processes within the Technology domain.
