Our client, a leading player in the (Insert Industry Here - e.g., SaaS, Financial Services, Engineering) sector, is looking for an ambitious and experienced Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth from their Southampton, Hampshire, UK office. This role is crucial for identifying and securing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and exceeding ambitious sales targets. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to expand the company's market presence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company growth objectives and expand the customer base.
  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities through various channels, including networking, cold outreach, and market research.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers within target organisations.
  • Lead the entire sales cycle, from initial contact and needs assessment to proposal development, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and collateral to support business development efforts.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for growth.
  • Present compelling product/service demonstrations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to ensure favourable agreements for the company.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and competitor activities.
  • Mentor and guide junior sales team members, sharing best practices and fostering a collaborative sales environment.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to represent the company and generate leads.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in business development or sales management, preferably within a B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets in complex sales cycles.
  • Excellent understanding of sales methodologies and principles.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build rapport and establish trust with senior stakeholders.
