We are now hiring for Consultants and Senior Consultants to join our Security Design Engineering team in London. Within our Crisis and Security Consulting practice, our Security Design Engineers design physical protective security measures that enable clients to manage and mitigate threats to people, reputation, and assets. Working within our team, this role is a key contribution to the work we do for our clients. You will lead and manage engagements to a professional standard within our contracted scope and budget, independently and in support of department colleagues, other Senior Consultants, and Associate Directors. You will also support the Directors to develop the service line, create and develop intellectual property, achieve strategic objectives, and train and mentor junior team members. You will assist with the business development activities and the growth strategy for the UK and Europe. You will build new and existing client relationships, supported by your colleagues, management, and the senior leadership team.
Consulting
- Identifying and pursuing business opportunities
- Responding to client requests for proposals (RFPs); determining, scoping, writing, and pricing fee proposals
- Leading, managing, and designing for our engagements, including technical security reviews, audits, design surveys, installation inspections and approvals, working at client sites and in the office
- Designing physical and electronic security systems to an appropriate level, working in conjunction with specialist engineers from other organisations within project design teams
- Producing reports, specifications, and drawings through all RIBA Plan of Work stages
- Owning problems and providing problem solving solutions
- Lead and participate in client and project meetings to add value to client projects and be the client’s trusted advisor

Requirements
You will be an experienced physical security design consultant who has thorough experience leading and managing engagements to a professional standard
You will have:
- Membership in a security-related institute
- A security-related qualification
- Thorough knowledge of current national and international standards and installation practices
- Thorough knowledge and experience of designing physical security systems including fencing, gates, walls, doors and facades
- Depth and breadth of understanding and experience in delivering physical and electronic security design consulting across all RIBA Plan of Work stages within multiple sectors within the built environment across the UK and Europe
- Substantial Project Management experience relating to security consulting and installations within the built environment
- Strong interpersonal/relationship building/client management skills
- Proven experience in effectively assisting, reviewing, and providing feedback to team members and improving output
- Experience in building effective and strong client relationships
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Regional experience on-the-ground in Western Europe
- Certified relevant security industry qualifications
- Knowledge of, and experience using design-related software, e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, MS Project and other relevant software experience
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

About the role:
The purpose of the Network & Security Engineer role is to create and deliver optimum solutions to meet business and client needs through the whole project lifecycle from understanding the project and requirements to transition into BAU support. Hence, this is a pivotal role in the delivery of technological solutions for the business and our customers.
Network & Security Engineer roles are expected to take on challenging projects, often spanning more than one application and/or technology and as such, this role is very delivery goal focused.
The further element of the role will be assisting the Technical Management Team in day-to-day network operations and will require emergency availability in the event of service faults.
The successful candidate will play a large role in operations on a metro London service provider network. A part of this role will also be customer facing; supporting customer networks and infrastructure.
This is a hands-on, practical role that will require visits to customer sites, DCs and similar, therefore the person recruited into this position will need to be flexible and willing to travel to client sites and other work related locations including DCs, as and when required.
The ideal candidate will have a wealth of networking experience, preferably with vendor certifications.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a satisfactory DBS cert.
Amongst other tasks, you will be responsible for:
- Provide Technical support at 2nd line level to Academia Customers
- Work closed with Academia Service Desk Team for networking related escalations

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, network segmentation, and firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
- Proven experience with VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and SIEM solutions.
- Hands-on experience with cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of common cyber threats, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
