Our client is a leading global food retail company who is expanding rapidly their multi-billion-dollar food business. They are looking for committed and passionate food innovators to head up the R&D Team with more than 20 people.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sets medium to long-term directions on product and packaging development, which meet the brands thrust on taste, value, and design superiority.
  • Directs the development and implementation of an efficient and profitable product development process including supplier liaison, packaging innovation and cost management.
  • Oversee the development process from concept to launch, including prototyping, testing, and refinement.
  • Leads the creation of policies and procedures to improve efficiency of research and development operations – e.g., shelf-life study, TST (transit, storage, and trundling) test.
  • Works closely with the Marketing with the Marketing team to identify priorities for new products and enhancements based on results of consumer research.
  • Directs and oversees the translation of product development process in all manufacturing sites and outsourced suppliers, where applicable.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Chemical, Nutrition, or other related Food Science courses.
  • Candidates with a Chef/Culinary background who works in a fast food/ QSR, or food manufacturing business will also be considered
  • Candidates with Food Tech background in Fast food / QSR business will be considered.
  • At least 10 years of solid and relevant experience as an R&D in a food manufacturing, food retail, QSR and global restaurants business
  • Experience in Quality Assurance, QSR in the food manufacturing industry is an advantage
  • With at least 3 years in an R&D leadership role (Director/VP Level)
  • With proven track record of successful new product innovation & commercialization of food/dishes, meals, consumer food package goods etc.
  • Expert knowledge on meat handling - beef, poultry and pork in particular
  • Knowledge of Food Material Properties, Functional Ingredients and Food Additives
  • Formulation and Process Development
