To work as part of the Mill Engineering team to meet the full maintenance & operational requirements of the Navenby Feed Mill. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of our feed mill machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults quickly and effectively.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Work collaboratively with production teams to minimize disruption and optimize performance.

• BTEC Level 4 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Electrically qualified to 17th edition.
• Mechanical Qualification.
• Organised.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the successful candidate will play a key role in responding swiftly to production breakdowns and delivering planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of poultry processing and packing machinery, including conveyors, module and tray transport systems, plucking equipment, evisceration machinery, tray sealers, flow wrappers, and vacuum sealers.

• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
• Adhere to HSE protocols, including Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Follow lock-off procedures to ensure the safety of self and others on site.
• Undertake small projects and modifications as required.
• Assess the nature of breakdowns quickly and take appropriate action.
• Conduct PPM inspections, maintenance, and corrective repairs in a timely manner.
• Perform general maintenance duties, including lubrication tasks and maintenance schedules.

• NVQ Level 3 (Essential)
• Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical disciplines (Essential)
