The Department is looking to recruit a lecturer with a health background to teach across our L2 and L3 Health and Social Care programmes including the new T-level in Health Science planned for 2026.
The main responsibility of this role will be to provide high quality teaching, learning and assessment in addition to undertaking associated tutorial duties.
The successful candidate may also be a course leader for one or more programmes.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Adult Social Care Solicitor to join a local authority based in the West Midlands. This is a key opportunity to provide high-quality legal services and advice across all aspects of adult social care law, helping to safeguard some of the most vulnerable members of our community. You will manage a varied caseload, including complex and sensitive matters, provide specialist legal opinions, and undertake advocacy in a wide range of courts and tribunals - including the Court of Protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake all aspects of adults' social care legal work, including managing a complex personal caseload.
- Provide legal advice and representation on sensitive adult social care matters.
- Act as advocate in courts and tribunals, particularly the Court of Protection.
- Draft and prepare a wide range of legal documentation with accuracy and clarity.
- Provide specialist legal advice to panels and boards and attend as clerk or advisor where required.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister , entitled to practise in England.
- A thorough knowledge of adult social care law and the statutory/regulatory framework.
- Demonstrable experience of advocacy in courts and tribunals relating to adult services.
- Strong drafting skills and proven ability to provide accurate, practical legal advice.
