Job Title: Social Worker - Children In Care
Salary: 36,124 -50,788
Responsible to: Team Manager
Work Pattern: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in the office)
Location: Milton Keynes City Council
The Role
The Children in care team in Milton Keynes is a rewarding team to be in, we act as corporate parents to the children and young people in our care. We are ambitious for our children and deliver a high standard of service to ensure our children and young people achieve good outcomes.
Key Requirements
- Chairing multi-disciplinary meetings and working closely with other agencies/professionals to complete assessments and formulate child centred care plans.
- Completing annual Children and Family Assessments on each case to ensure that the care plan for the child/young person is reviewed.
- Ensuring that children have all of their day-to-day care needs met and fully understand their care story. This will be through the provision of direct work/life story work and multi-agency working with other professionals.
- Managing a caseload of up to 18 children with children subject to Care Orders, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children, Placed with Parents and children subject to Placement Orders.
- Working as part of a team to share knowledge, develop team skills and contribute to the overall development of the team.
Skills & Experience
- A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Committed to supporting children, young people and their families and has the resilience to go that extra mile to ensure they achieve their potential.
- Someone who thinks outside the box, is able to challenge and make evidenced based decisions.
- UK driving license, business insurance and can travel in and outside of Milton Keynes which may sometimes include working outside of office hours.
- Willing to work collaboratively as part of a team in sharing knowledge and supporting team development.
