**Graduate Electrical Engineer (Renewable Energy)**

Our Renewable Energy team are seeking graduates within their London-Aldgate office **starting from August 2026 onwards** .

**Here's what you'll do:**

Successful candidates will be deployed to work predominately on solar projects however will have the opportunity to work on different projects providing electrical support for the following types of technologies.
Onshore and offshore wind
Solar PV
Hydroelectric u2013 run of river and pumped storage.
Hydrogen production and storage
Battery energy storage systems (BESS)

Projects include all stages of design from feasibility to detailed design and site construction supervision both in the UK and internationally. Our clients are a mix between large energy utility generators to private developers.

**A typical project example:**

Lancaster University Solar Farm u2013 AECOM was awarded the contract following the Clientu2019s successful planning application for a private wire ground mount solar farm PV development. AECOM completed a reference design and prepared a full pack for tendering; this included the preparation of technical specifications and clientsu2019 requirements. AECOM are currently acting as the NEC Project Manager and Owneru2019s Engineer during the build and commissioning of the site.

**Responsibilities include:**
Supporting the delivery of consultancy services on renewable energy engineering projects, including undertaking site visits / supervision.
Providing input into feasibility level studies for renewable energy projects in conjunction with wider AECOM teams.
Preparation of technical reports.
Preparation of detailed design information.
Assisting in securing work with renewable energy developers and their supply chain.

**A little more about your role.**
You will provide low voltage electrical design and consultancy services for nationally significant clients, supporting technical leads on complex engineering projects. No two days will be the same, but you could be expected to:
+ Support the design team lead on larger scale projects to strive towards a right first-time approach focusing on high-quality outputs. The identification and mitigation of risks is a key aspect to ensure designs are safe and compliance with CDM regulations.
+ For smaller scale projects you would be expected to carry out a discipline lead role and be accountable for your disciplines resourcing and ensuring delivery is on track, both commercially and according to the agreed project programme. Our Fire Engineering ( team is involved in the development of the overall fire strategy for a building, which involves the design of fire protection systems within buildings including means of escape, building layout, smoke control, sprinkler systems, reaction to fire of construction materials,
Working as a Graduate in our Fire Engineering team, you will be helping to protect buildings and occupants from the effects of fire and smoke by ensuring buildings are designed in line with Part B of the Building Regulations (fire safety). This is achieved by following relevant code guidance to produce fire strategy documents and other technical reports to demonstrate a building's compliance or coming up with specific fire engineered solutions where following code-guidance may not be feasible.
Day-to-day activities could include:
+ Producing fire strategy reports for proposed and existing buildings.

Façade Engineering ( Façade Engineering covers the design of building envelopes and encompasses a multitude of skill sets such as structural engineering, environmental design, sustainability, acoustics, fire engineering, materials technology, manufacturing processes, prototype testing and site installation.  The façade package is a key element on any given project and typically amounts to some 30% of the build cost.  As a Façade Engineer, you will be working closely with signature architects, developers, and contractors on a broad range of projects from concept through to construction.
We actively promote the development of each of our teams through experience and continued learning to develop our specialist knowledge and engineering skills in this highly technical field which sets us apart in the industry.
Day-to-day activities could include:

**What Is the Opportunity?**
We are looking for an Onshore Renewable Energy Underwriter to join our successful Renewable Energy Underwriting team in London. We have big ambitions for the team and you'll be responsible for supporting the management of the book's profitability by underwriting and processing new business, renewals and mid term adjustments and monitoring rate adequacy.

**What Will You Do?**
+ Support the overall profitability, growth and retention of the Line of Business line and consistency of all related underwriting initiatives.
+ Ensures that business is written in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures and controls (including audit requirements) at all times, and adheres to Lloyds Underwriting Management Standards ensuring business is only accepted in accordance with:
+ individual underwriting authority and, where relevant, with approval under the Lloyds Individual Registration Byelaw.
+ the Unit's business plan for the relevant year.
+ Support the development of assigned Line of Business and services such as researching and identifying target business, competitor information, industry and economic factors across the business.
+ Utilise appropriate systems to accurately enter quotes, risks and endorsements, so as to ensure correct management, statistical and regulatory reporting.
+ May gather data and prepare reports to support the professional execution of corporate/business underwriting policies/standards.
+ Monitor market factors and world affairs as part of research and development of new opportunities.
+ Promote Travelers Line of Business, distribution strategy and philosophy and provide guidance on the Company's underwriting philosophy, procedures and requirements by building strong partnerships with Agents, Brokers and Customers.
+ Provide guidance, mentoring and coaching to others as appropriate.

**What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?**
+ Experience within the Lloyd's market preferred, with a basic understanding of the internal and external factors which impact the market.
+ Underwriting experience preferred.

+ Expected to be studying towards ACII qualification.
**What is a Must Have?**
+ Previous Property and Casualty insurance experience in either an underwriting, operational or broker capacity.
+ Secondary level education or equivalent required.
