Job Description
Do you have experience in BOTH purchasing (or buying), AND stock management? Then you might be interested in this exciting and brand-new opportunity! I am assisting an established and highly regarded Dartford based company in their search for a Purchaser and Stock Manager.
About the company
It’s a busy, growing company situated on the outskirts of central Dartford, Kent. It’s also a company which genuinely values and rewards their people for their efforts. The company operates within the technical / construction services arena, supporting a wide and varied client base.
The Role
We’re searching for a Purchaser and Stock Manager who is familiar with the wholesale supply base to the construction, trades (or aligned) industries. If you’re a person who can build solid business relationships with suppliers, have a trained eye on stock levels, whilst expertly forward planning resources to ensure adequate and timely supply - you’ll be the hero who keeps their projects ticking with materials arriving just when and where they should.
Your Day-to-Day Might Include:
- Scouring suppliers for the best prices on everything from materials and fixings, right down to the last clip or fuse
- Processing supplier invoicing
- Updating inhouse CRM
- Managing stock levels so they never run out (or drown in a sea of surplus cable ties)
- Placing orders, tracking deliveries, and smoothing out any hiccups along the way
- Pick and prepare all materials required for upcoming jobs
- Keeping the storerooms shipshape, maintaining an accurate inventory
- Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with suppliers and wholesalers and negotiate the very best prices, terms, and delivery times
- Receiving deliveries and verifying these against purchase orders for accurate quality and quantities
- Working closely with site teams to make sure their wishes come true (or at least their material requests)
What we are looking for
- Experienced in purchasing, and / or stock management—bonus points if it’s in construction or trades
- A pro at negotiating, with a sixth sense for spotting potential issues
- An absolute legend for securing the very best prices and terms
- Organised, proactive, and unflappable when the phone rings off the hook
- Familiar with CRM software
- Inquisitive and always researching opportunities to reduce costs, whilst maintaining quality
- A sense of humour and a can-do attitude are the only essential qualifications!
What’s In It For You?
- A friendly, down-to-earth team who appreciate a good cuppa (Oh, and cake occasionally)
- Competitive salary with genuine professional development opportunities.
- 25 days annual leave – plus bank & public holidays (33 in total)
- Quarterly (performance based) profit share bonus
- A highly supportive management team
- Employee assistance programme
- Free parking
